Need to:

Settle on Guest List
Finalize food
Taste cake

Tux Fitting and Rental
Recption dress (going out after our dry wedding)

Oh and IM SURE there is more!! lol. January is going to be kick some ass time!! lol May isnt far!

I just got the invitations in…so I need to bundle those up and get them ready to send out. I need to get my dress altered. I need to design the programs, finalize the Out of Town bags, order the favors, pick the flowers, have my hair and makeup trial, get the marriage license (etc), finish planning out the ceremony, get my BMs and Fiance gifts, and then of course…write my vows!

My invites should ship to me today (hooray!), so once I receive them I’ll need to get cracking on addressing them and getting them out the door. We still don’t know what the groom/groomsmen are wearing, so I need to keep pestering the groom about that! We also still need to book the honeymoon, rehearsal dinner venue (which we have a hold on), buy his wedding band, etc, etc. *sigh*  The fact that we’re basically at the 4 month mark is a little….disconcerting.

I am with MeganTacky2247… I have had a 3 year engagement because I am dead in the middle of nursing school and really wanted to finish, but we could not wait any longer. I have been doing little by little. I am proud to say that amongst being in nursing school, commuting 120 miles everyday to class and back, and my fiance being working in Afghanistan, I am ALMOST done!!! I only have a few odds and ends things to do…

I need to:

  • Order rose petals
  • Sell my original bridesmaids dresses so they can get new ones that match my new wedding gown (Yes I am a two dress bride lol)
  • Order bubbles
  • Make signs to go on tribute table and guestbook table
  • Figure out what else I want to get my bridesmaids as gifts
  • Order the flowergirl dresses (waiting on their sizes)
  • Pay the rest of the remainder fees to my cake artist, decorator, and photographer

That is all….WHEW!! Thank the dear lord because I am about ready to pull my hair out!!! I am just thankful that I am still here and able to marry the love of my life when he gets home from Afghanistan!! I was in a horrible wreck in October on my way to school. A driver on a side street ran a stop sign and t-boned my door going 55 MPH causing our vehicle (PT CRUISER) to flip numerous times and landed on the opposite side of the highway from the original way we were going, upside down!!! I should have died!! I managed to walk away with a scraped finger and a contusion on my leg. I honestly believe the good lord kept me around for my fiance!! I truly believe that!! And I couldn’t be more ecstatic!! To all my other month of May twins, CONGRATULATIONS!! This is SUCH an exciting time!!

I’ve got all the big things out of the way, but I have a TON of little things I have to get done now. They’re written down on a checklist so I don’t forget anything. I have almost four months to go… it seems like a lot of time, but it’s going to fly by I know. I need to get my second wind…We can do it! Go us!

All the little things (and there are soooo many) lie programs, music lists, my accessories etc and plan the menu. That is really all that we have left thankfully enough.

My wedding planner made a schedule right after we hired her so it was nice to be on a timeline so to speak instead of leaving things to the last minute.

Uggg…don’t remind me. I still need to:

see florist

finalize reception food

shoes and accessories

Maid/Matron of Honor and flower girl dresses

Fiance and best man suites

all other paper goods (programs, thank yous, tags)

escort cards

favors (making oreo truffles so this will have to wait until at least May & I have to make over 200)

ceremony and reception decorations

finalize music choices

order chairs/ tent for ceremony

hair trial

bridal party gifts

and a ton of other little details

I have to wait for time and money to complete things and both of these come and go quickly! I am really trying to keep my butt moving so come May 1st I;m not freaking out an pulling all nighters doing DIYs!

How fitting…I’ve been ahead of the game for so long and realized last night that everything I’m doing now is like just on time. I logged onto the registry two days ago and it said ‘105 days left’…seriously!?

I need to:

Re-meet with my florist…have a feeling I’m going to change most of the flowers on her :/

Cake tasting…secretly looking forward to this 🙂

Finalize addresses to print invitation labels…still missing some from FI’s family…grrr

Stuff & mail invitations..may bump up the send out date, dying to know who’s coming

Arrange the rehearsal with my venue

Finalize the menu with my venue

Have my dress altered…oh and actually start working out

Follow-up with all my vendors…i booked all the big stuff last January, I have a feeling when I call they are going to say ‘who, what, when…’ and have no idea who I am

Figure out a honeymoon spot…I’m a teacher so that won’t be happening until late June

Stop obsessing over when the heck my shower will be..I asked that it be a surprise and I’m starting to get ridiculously antsy about it

Book the hotels for my dad and some out of town family, and myself…

Plan welcome bags

Make sure all the boys get fitted for their tuxes

Get my fiance to by groomsmen gifts

Work on music playlists for the ceremony and reception..

Find a second reader for the ceremony…

Figure out what my Dad is wearing since he refuses to wear a rented tux…

Spend more ridiculous money on a second hair and make-up trial since my first one was a freaking disaster…

And a gazillion other things I am sure I’m not thinking of……………ughhh.

Yet to do (yikes):

  • I *still* don’t have a dress (I know, I know – please no finger-wagging at me!)
  • Because of scheduling conflicts at church, we are behind on pre-marital sessions – and I can’t design my programs until we plan the ceremony
  • Mail out invitations this weekend (international ones already sent)
  • Do hair/makeup trial
  • Get engagement pics done (we may skip)
  • Do Out of Town bags once #s shape up
  • Book honeymoon
  • Make bunting decor
  • Come up with guestbook
  • Assign “day of” tasks
  • Nag FH re: homebrew, attendants’ gifts
  • Order wholesale flowers
  • Create signage
  • Finish DIY favors
  • FH is nearly done with our cork placecard holders!

those countdowns freak me out – everytime I got onto the knot I get a minor panic attack.

Luckily we have all the major things checked off and now its only the little details – but isn’t it always that the little details always seem to take longer??

and to make matters more stressful I have a 2 week business trip to Bangkok and will not be back till 2 weeks before the wedding – so will have to rely on my Fiance – Arghhhhh not sure my nerves can survive!!!
