Hey date twin!

I have learned to:

1. Accept help when I need it. I’m a super-organised person so I tend to sort most things out myself, but the planning process has taught me that sometimes other people actually want to help out and that it’s much less stress if they do.

2. Stand strong on the things we care about and let the other stuff slide. We really care about the venue, the flowers, the food and drink and the music. So we’ve stood by those decisions and fought for them. We don’t really care about lots of other things so we’ve made an active decision not to stress about it if the plans have to change.

3. Make it personal. We’ve got so many friends and family doing things for the wedding it’s crazy: My friend Lucy from work (who is a part-time florist) is doing the flowers, My FIs friend from school (who is a wedding photographer) is doing the photos, My friend from college (who is a graphic designer) is doing the invites, My oldest friend and her mum (who make cakes in their spare time) are doing our cake. I love that we haven’t picked any vendors out of a book, everybody knows us and that means all of these bits for the wedding will be really personal and done with love, they’re also all really professional and we know we can trust them to get it right. It also means that the money which we would otherwise be paying to strangers is going into the pockets of people we love.

Can’t believe it’s NEXT MONTH now!!

Holy cow @noodle4hd ! I dont know why, but I didn’t realize it’s NEXT MONTH till you said something. Wow. Mind blown! SO EXCITING!

@QueenG:  As far as learning stuff, I’ve learned that as cheesy as it is to say, “don’t sweat the small stuff, and it’s all small stuff.” I’ve had my officiant drop out in March and rather than throw myself into a panic, I found a new one within the week. Instead about stressing about perfect, picturesque details, I’ve realized that no one will notice/care, they are there to celebrate me and my fiance.

congrats fellow date twins!

May 26th for me too! So soon!!

I read a great quote: “A wedding is a party, not a preformance. If at the end of the day you’re married to the one you love, it went perfectly'”

We’ve been together for 3 1/2 years and got engaged in December, threw ourselves into wedding planning and when it gets stressful, I just repeat my little mantra.

Sounds like us May 26th brides have been pretty calm and collected ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ladies I totally feel what you’re feeling. The countdown is drawing nigh and I’m soooo excited. I lost a bridesmaid… Didnt stress.  Ordered my dress and a month later was told it was discontinued….didn’t stress my awesome mom is making it and it’s better than I could have imagined.  I have gotten to the point of telling people if they are expecting the royal wedding then stay home because this is a celebration of love and we are doing it how we saw it unfold in our hearts.  Even our invitations let people know we selected these people who we love and feel love us and want to celebrate our love and our speciday day. At then end of the day as long as I am MRS. Then it went perfectly.  Happy wedding ladies…..love and continue to be happy

The one thing I have learned: Its just ONE day.. yes its a very special day.. but its one day.. An incredible wedding is great.. but an incredible marriage is better.

I can’t believe it’s only in 20 more days! I have to admit I’m freaking out a bit with all the details and I’m trying to keep calm with everything!

Our engagement has been 19 months, so it seems surreal that the wedding is 19 DAYS away now.  I had a good weekend of getting things done, but the little things still astonish me.  I swear, checking ‘the Knot’ checklist gives me more anxiety than anything.  I really wish vendors could read my mind.  Or that I don’t have to explicitly tell my photographer what key shots I want.  I guess leaving things to be assumed is where it gets risky.

Anyone else nervous to see their cake/flowers on the day of??  I feel so type A that I might just be setting myself up for disappointment with all my nit-picky details

MAY 26, 2012 will be a fabulous day because we are all marrying then and also because the weather will be amazing! Reverse psychology ladies, trying to keep positive since I’m marrying outside ๐Ÿ™‚  Prayers are  welcome! That is the only factor that I will let get to me if it doesn’t go in my direction….I just dont know what i would do since the whole reason i picked the venue was for the outside ceremony site! *good vibes*
