Fiance and I have been engaged since May 1, 2011 and specifically had a long engagement just so we could wait until May 4th fell on a Saturday.
I’m about to out ourselves as GIANT dorks, but we chose the date because it is Star Wars Day (May the Fourth be with you!)
Are we the only nerds out there who have chosen a date just for a silly meaning like this?
(I should add that no, it isn’t going to be a Star Wars themed wedding; we will have little touches of dorkiness here and there, but I will not be wearing a gold bikini)

We had a 23 month engagement, but we didn’t chose the date because of Star Wars day. We choose it because I wanted a spring wedding, didn’t want to plan one in 11 months, and the 4th was the only April/May date that wasn’t booked at our venue. Actually no one has mentioned the Star Wars thing to us yet in person when we’ve told them the date…

We TOTALLY chose it because of Star Wars day. We were thinking about giving ‘lightsaber’ chopsticks to the bridal party as gag gifts but… decided to go a little classier instead. *sigh* Once again, I have to reign in my inner dork. We aren’t doing a Star Wars theme either BUT we’re going to Disney World for the honeymoon. And they have Star Wars weekends. We’re going to Hollywood Studios the 11th in hopes they’ll do the Star Wars weekend that day. Eek!!

- Wedding: May 2013 - Walt Disney World
I specifically DIDN’T choose May 4th not because of Star Wars Day, but because it’s my sister’s birthday (and she’s the diva of the three girls in my family). Lol, “May the Fourth be with you”…I love it!
