We want to have a Destination Wedding in Miami so that will be a mini moon. We will probably continue saving for the Bahamas later in the year.

If you cannot afford your wedding, how are you paying for a honeymoon?  Not saying you shouldn’t have one, just wondering if you’ve really thought about the logistics of paying for it all!  None of the things you are talking about sound cheap….

We just took a mediterranean cruise in the fall, so we are looking for a nice relaxing vacation. Our number one choice is currently Iberostar Grand Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica, probably 7 days.

We are going to Atlantic City for a week!  Fiance is very pale and for that reason he hates the beach, so it would be pointless to go somewhere JUST for the beaches.  However, we both love being near the ocean, and love the times we’ve spent in AC.  We’re gonna get a luxurious hotel room, do lots of drinking, relaxing in the spas, gambling, & eating.  Pretty damn excited.

@kmarie719:  Did you enjoy the Med. cruise? where di you go?

We were thinking about doing a med cruise but the more I think about it, I really want to sit on a beach, relax, and drink a tropical drink and like snorkel or something…a cruise might be too much work for me for a honey moon

Ours is a bit of a mess. Like, really, a whole lot of a mess.

Original plan: Get married on Saturday, leave for honeymoon Monday and go somewhere where we can do beach for the first half and mountain/spa for the second half with lots of activities- we’re not lay on the beach for 12 hours a day type of people and we liked the idea of a change of scenery. I looked at Belize and Costa Rica.

So then a really close friend gets engaged and sets her wedding date for 1 month after ours….in England.

New plan: Get married on Saturday and on Monday drive somewhere within 5 hours of Atlanta and spend a few days relaxing. A month later fly to England for friend’s wedding and then spend 2 weeks in Europe…somewhere….eating and being drunk sexed up skunks.

🙂

@mayflowerbride13:  I think I just haven’t thought too much about it with everything else…until now, when should I really begin to plan?

@mayflowerbride13:  Hawaii but we are leaving a week later. I think you deserve something really nice for everything you are going through.

@mayflowerbride13:  I know I’d be bored in Bora Bora for 10 days, since literally nothing else is there but an ocean. A few days would be fine, but maybe find something where you could change things up mid-way or just somewhere with lots of things to do in case you are a bit bored?

@memorialbride13:  The cruise was great. I had always wanted to go to Europe, and this was the perfect way to do it. However, it took a lot of planning, months worth of planning, to research what the attractions were at each stop, how to get to them, booking tours etc.

If you want to see as much as possible knowing you won’t return for a while, I’d say it is worth it. However, I wouldn’t do it again. Some ports were only from about 8-3, with attractions being an hour away. Some days felt really rushed and we didn’t get to take in the culture as much as we would have wanted, because we were also there to see the sites on a limited time frame.

One day was almost a waste because there wasn’t much to do in the city after about 2 hours. On the other hand, we visited cities we never would have even thought of which ended up being amazing, Dubrovnik ended up being our favorite port.

The ports we went to were Venice, Split, Koper, Dubrovnik, Messina, Naples, Civitavecchia (Rome)

We gave ourselves an extra day in Venice the day before and an extra day in Rome the day after, so try to give yourself some time if you go with it.

We will be taking a ‘mini honeymoon” right after the wedding, probably to the Caribbean. Our official honeymoon will coincide with our first anniversary. Since we will be out of vacation time/ money, we are going to Croatia ( Fiance is Croatian) for a month the following spring.
