I’m finalizing my DJ, getting my STD’s and invites ordered, picking out a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress and picking out tuxes.  All the big stuff is done so now I’m trying to focus on the little things.

Just ordered fabric swatches for my dress, booked the church and reception venue, looking for a decently priced dj, going to countless appointments at davids bridal with my bridesmaids, trying to decide on a photographer, making and remaking the guest list,( My Fiance thinks we should invite everyone we have ever known!) attendants gifts, favors, wedding cake, trying to come up with an idea for an escort card table, spending to much money and oh yeah,………..Seriously thinking about eloping to Vegas! lol

Hmm, I usually avoid these posts cos they freak me out (highlighting how little I have done), but I’ll give this a go.

So. October. Well I’ve started a calligraphy evening course for DIY invites. I’m going to buy paper in about three weeks. Hoping to get invites pretty much completely done by Xmas to ease Spring Stress. I’ve to talk to DJ, but (fingers crossed) it’s pretty well sorted. Talking to cake shop lady tomorrow about cupcake prices, so that means next weekend we’ll be eating a good dozen cupcakes to pick vendor.

Which brings me neatly to, going to the gym. A bare 7 months now, so I have to get serious. Planning to build a five times weekly routine, as of this week.

Work on guest list again… as always… Although I think it’s mostly there. I have to chase down a ceremony singer that I heard outside a local church a while back, might try to find out something about her tomorrow – a name would be good!

And have decided to do fabric flower bouts for GMs and ringbearers, so will buy the fabric and ribbon for those, and for our bouquets, as well as for the decorations for the church gate , and the flower girl wands. So yeah, about three miles of ribbon then. But it’s the best time to get it, cos I’ll be getting ribbon for wrapping Xmas pressies so hope to bulk buy all of it in one go.

Speaking of which, anybody know anywhere cheaper than the Ribbon Retreat Wholesale, that still has good variety of colours, and good service?

Going to price candy properly for buffet. Think that’s it for now, know I’m forgetting something important tho!

Oh yeah, haha, we’re going to the Registrar tomorrow week for our legal permission to wed. Well that’s not an important thing to forget, lol…!

I always love reading these posts, because they remind me to do things I probably would have forgotten otherwise.

This month, we hope to:

  • register
  • finish our wedding website
  • book an officiant
  • hire ceremony musicians
  • figure out if we can logistically actually have a iPod reception instead of a DJ

When are you ladies booking linens?  I thought that seemed like something to do far in advance, but every vendor I’ve talked to is pushing me to leave it for a few more months (so I don’t change my mind?).

We’ve booked all the major vendors (venue, caterer, party rentals and DJ), bought the wedding party’s attire (Bride, Groom, Bridesmaid or Best Man and GM), have all elements of the centerpieces/ceremony decor on hand (table runners, lanterns, glass jars, paper flowers and candles), have my real-touch flowers delivered, Save-The-Date Cards sent, invites designed, tableware/napkins received, and stationery for placecards/menu cards in stock. It is just a matter of putting everything together requiring actual cutting, sewing, measuring, glueing, etc. The hard part for me since I’m not a DIY kinda gal. Undecided

Also, saving money and working out consistently.

OH man! You guys make me feel so much better because I have so much to do and thought I was totally behind!

Right now we’re:

  • Trying to figure out Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses. Entirely too much work for sure.
  • Deciding/Designing Save-The-Date Cards to be sent next month
  • Trying to find a videographer – I’ve been avoiding this for months and its time!
  • Junior Bridesmaid or Best Man dress – next to impossible, I think
  • Put down money for baker (all ready decided which one though)
  • We’re meeting with the florist this weekend, so I need to find floral inspiration fast!
  • Picking up the wedding bands on Thursday (!!!!)

Also, not to freak anybody out, but did anyone else’s jaw drop and kind of panic when they realize next month is 6 months? Hoooooly moly!

I’m working on figuring out the rehearsal dinner location and finalizing the table layout for the reception.  Once the seating is figured out, I’m going to finalize everything with our florist and start on DIY projects like place cards, etc.

Hey ladies!

This month we’re planning to register, and I want to finish my DIY pomanders (for pew decor). I’ve been working on things for 15 months now, so I have a ton of stuff done already.

Oh, we also want to meet with the church organist, and finish collecting addresses!
