You should try them on before you make a decision. You might think you know what you like until you see it on your hand. I thought I was going to like round halos, but I hated how they looked when I put them on. I ended up loving a round stone in a cushion halo. Best of both worlds!

I was absolutely SET on a round cut with halo, the moment i tried it on I hated it. It looked absolutely huge and bulky on My finger. I tried on an oval stone with a halo and fell in love.

I still look at the round cuts with halo and love love love it! But I know it isn’t something I can wear (to my tastes)

TRY IT ON!!!!!’

Mine is smaller than what you are looking at but still a round halo, from Blue Nile.

My ring is 2 cts. Personally I prefer the brilliance of a round diamond.

zebra10 :  yes, in a cushion halo, which is a soft square shape. I liked the cushion shape but wanted the sparkle of a round diamond, so it was the best of both worlds.

2 carat center stone. My setting is Verragio from the insignia collection but I can’t remember the style number.

zebra10 :  My husband custom designed the ring. It is a Harry Winston inspired setting. It’s a 2.01 ct hearts & arrows diamond with 1.5 mm diamonds around the halo and band. There are also smaller diamonds around the donut and prongs up to the halo. I’m unsure of the total carats, but the ring is a size 7 for reference. I also included some additional pics with my wedding band, which matches the band of my ring and was designed to have a gap in between.

zebra10 : Beautiful! It looks really nice on your hand. I’ve seen Hearts on Fire offer halo rings at different jewlery retailers. You can see their settings and find a retailer on their website.

Mine is a 2.01 ct G VS2 centre with 0.02 ct F VS diamonds around and on the band. Size 4.5 ring. The band is ~1.7 mm thick.

When choosing your halo if you are going for a 2 carat centre I personally think smaller diamonds look nicer so they don’t overwhelm the star of the show.

Keep your colour grading close to the centre stone.

And decide whether you want an “air line” or not (gap between the centre and halo). Mine doesn’t have an air line.

Good luck!!!!!! 🙂
