I really wish I had a better photo of mine since I loved the way they came out, but unfortunately I only took one on my phone at the time:

Black fabric bags, silver organza, and silver satin ribbon from http://www.papermart.com.  I made the tags using leftover paper from my other wedding projects.

@reebee:  Thank you for linking that site! I need to start thinking about buying things for out of town bags and they have great prices!

I don’t have pictures, but can describe them for you?

My mom was 100% behind them, I only did half the assembly!

She went to the tourist info center and got several brochures and maps and such.  She also bought a bunch of things at costco.  She got a smoking deal on some gift bags too, maybe 25 cents for largish ones.  The majority of the people staying in the hotel were my younger cousins, who very rarely get to stay in hotels.  Plus, it had a waterslide.  They were in heaven.

-organic juice/soft drink cans

– individual chip packs

– mixed nuts of some sort

… and I can’t remember.

@techie:  The bags are the same fabric that reusable grocery bags are made of, and a lot of people have actually told me they are getting a lot of use out of them!  Yay for environmentally-friendly Out of Town bags!

@pengoala:  What did you put in your welcome note?  I’m doing Out of Town bags for my Jamaica wedding and don’t have a clue as to what to write in the welcome letter.

I hate welcome bags!  I don’t want to think about it at all.  But I guess it’s the right thing to do.

Here are mine. I put a timeline inside which was posted onto matching pink paper. Since our wedding was in Philly, I did a Philly theme inside the box. Pretzels, Peanut chews, Tastycakes.
