- Wedding: May 2012
Hello fellow bees! I guess its time for me to finally post my May 12th wedding. All photos were taken by Your Life Photography based in Virgina.
Our day started with the ladies getting their hair done.
My mother, matron of honor and I got our make up done. My other two bridesmaids opted out of the make up which was perfectly fine with me!
Abby, my Matron of Honor seemed quite happy with her make up!
It was then my turn!
While I got my make up done everyone else sat around and watch Power Rangers and Saved By the Bell….so jealous I missed that!
It was time for me to get into my dress and my mother was MIA, so I had to give her a ring to see where she was!
The background to my ring bearer pillow is that it was orginally my parent’s ring pillow, which was made out of my grandmother’s wedding dress (that was made by my great grandmother). So on one side was my parent’s side and on the other was for Albert (my husband) and I.
I bought each of my bridesmaid’s a hanger with their name. Pictured is my dress with the BMs dresses.
I got my dress on and then my green shoes!
All of us before leaving to go to the venue.
The venue didn’t have a place for me to get ready so we actually got ready at my Matron of Honor’s house. In preparation of me getting ready there, she made a bookcase full of books and movies that we had shared together.
Meanwhile, Albert was getting ready…and I think he was excited!
On their way to the ceremony!
Speaking of which, here is our venue! The Ritz Charles in Indianapolis, Indiana!
The inside. We had the ceremony and reception in the same room.
Our table numbers. I made the centerpieces and table numbers!
Our seating chart!
Here is an arbor that Albert made for us to get married under. He even engraved our names in it for a suprise for me! I made the petal backdrop.
Here is our card box that was made for us by a family friend.
Before the ceremony we exchanged gifts. Albert recited ‘The Road Not Taken’ by Robert Frost and what that poem meant to him and for us. He told me how much he loved me etc. etc.
I wrote him a letter myself.
I then bought him his very own hoodie (since I steal all of his)…which I guess come to think of it, I stole this one as well. I’m kind of wearing it right now haha!
Right before the ceremony Albert ran right into a glass window….and borke his eyebrow open!
He even left a face print on the window! (soooo glad my photography captured this)!
They couldn’t get the bleeding to stop so they put salt in the wound…when that didn’t work the put pepper in it! That seemed to work. So from now on, you’ll see a beautiful peppered eyebrow on Albert.
My beautiful BMs
My Matron of Hone with whom I used to dance ballet with…can ya tell?! Haha.
My ring bearer didn’t want to go down the aisle so he pouted instead. <3
My flower girl rocked her job!
It was then my time to go down the aisle.
…Im a crier. Look at me go.
Yay! We’re now husband and wife!!!!
We were so ready to party!
This is why you have your best friend in your wedding. I loved my Matron of Honor (and still do I suppose) but I just love this picture!
Our awesome wedding party!
Our Best Man and Matron of Honor….just one of the reasons why they ‘got the job’.
My signing the marriage liscense…it was a very serious moment taken very seriously obviously.
We then took some alone time.
I always have to get on my tip toes to kiss him, so why would it be different on our wedding day?
I married my best friend.
I then changed into my super comfy All Star Converse!
This picture was taken right before we were announced at our reception.
Our beautiful wedding cake! The cake topper was made for us after the famous Robert Indiana sculpture that is at our museum of art.
Albert is a mechanic so as a suprise to him, I had an artist make him a ‘manly centerpiece’ made out of old car parts! So we had valve stems from an engine for the stems and keys for petals and bolts from trucks as the ‘filler’. He loved it!
We had a toasts after dinner, and Abby (the Matron of Honor) got choked up.
Annnd so did I. Crying again. I dont think I ever smiled, laughed, and cried so much in one day.
Our first dance.
Who couldn’t love this picture?!
We had a beautiful sparkler send off
My absolute favorite picture out of all of the pictures!!
Our amazing photographer!
Thank you for letting me share our day with you!
