September brides, what is your May to do list?
I have all of the “major” things taken care of except for invitations. The thought of tackling all of the small details is sending my stress levels through the roof, so I broke down and hired a wedding planner. I know she will be a great help, but I know I will still have a lot of work to do! How is your planning going?

Hey there! I am in the same boat as you! I am in the process of finalizing inviatations between 2 companies…hoping to receive my proof today for one to make a decision! My Maid/Matron of Honor also booked the bachelorette 2 weeks ago.
I know what you mean…when you look at the 4 months out list its a little daunting. We had a 2.5 year engagement and always felt ahead of the game…now its like oh crap, its really coming and now, we can start doing the things we could not do previously.
I bought 2/3 of my bridesmaid gifts, 2/3 of the gifts for my parents, Fiance and I have an idea on what to get for his parents, still no clue on the groomsmen gifts. I know its early for those, but to be honest…I just want to get done now whatever I can bc I feel like all those expenses are going to add up in the end.
I think I am also going to start making up our “In Leui of Favors” Donation papers for the minium amount of tables we know we will be having.
By The Way, wedding planners are great. Half of my friends have had them, half did not. The ones that did went MUCH smoother than those who did not. While I am anal about being organized, I chose to go with a day of coordinator, as I tend to get anxiety. Knowing that you won’t have to deal with anything on your wedding day is another weight lifted off your shoulder!
Little by little all us September brides will get through it! 🙂

I’ve started printing a to-do list and hanging it on the fridge so my Fiance can see it everyday, too – we’re getting to the point where he needs to be more involved!
On our list this month:
- Finalize invitation design
- Choose wedding bands
- Create wedding ceremony (a big one!!)
- Order additional rentals for venue (why is this so hard?! I’ve called the rentals place three times and spoken to someone each time, yet still no invoice!)
Items solely under my FI’s jurisdiction, which means they probably won’t actually get 100% done in May:
- Choose and purchase groom’s attire
- Choose best man’s attire (what color suit and tie to wear – based on what my Fiance chooses for himself) and tell him
- Get passport for honeymoon

Here’s what I’d like to get done:
- In the middle of proofing my invites. Will order them to be printed next week
- Need to reserve hotel rooms for the weekend of
- Need to order paper for a DIY project
- Need to select groomsmen attire
- Decide on what to do for the rehearsal dinner

Most of my To-Dos are already taken care of for this month! My invites just came in today so I need to go pick them up soon. I just went a few days ago and got my veil picked out and also all of the guys’ formalwear picked out. They just need to go get fitted before the end of the month. We do need to book the hotel for the wedding night and also go to the jeweler and start the wedding band design process.
It’s getting so close it’s scary! I remember thinking the year engagement would feel like forever and now that we’re hitting the four month mark I’m getting so nervous/excited!

My May to-do list:
-Make fiance pick groomsmen (yes, he refuses to make a decision on this one)
-Ask my girlfriends to be bridesmaids once above is done
-Plan rehearsal dinner
That’s all I have time to do and it will keep me busy all month.

May to do list:
-finally buy my wedding ring! (i’ve already picked it but FH wanted to wait 8 weeks just to see if it would go on sale. It didn’t) so excited about this… at the same time I’ll get my engagement ring resized (It fits but it’s on the tight side and will be unwearable in the future if I get pregnant/ middle aged spread)
-print the invitations (if we can find a printing place happy to do it, I went to one and they were super un-helpful), DIY the invitation decorations with my pregnant Bridesmaid or Best Man
-book our flights to our honeymoon destination (accomm already booked)
-look around at and possible purchase materials needed for centrepieces, table numbers, wishing well, reception decorations.
Honestly that’s about it for this month. (Taking baby steps lol) Next month the guys pick out their suits, and we might get a dance lesson or something.

Yesterday I received all the pieces from Cards & Pockets for my DIY wedding invitations, so I’d like to start getting those finalized as I’m sure its going to be more time consuming than I’m expecting. I’d also like to get the florist sorted out this month.

Hmmm I don’t think I have a whole lot left!! I tried to get a lot done early since my dissertation is due on 5/28 and we’re planning a cross-country move next month. This is what I can come up with for May…
-Order invitations (DONE!)
-Book flights for honeymoon (waiting for miles to come in)
-Figure out wedding day jewelry
-Decide on bridesmaids gifts (we are paying for hair, most of the bachelorette part, and I got them personalized hangers, so I’m thinking a necklace will complete it)
-Keep nagging Fiance to find a wedding band
-Dress fitting on 5/29!

Ø Make coat hangers for bridesmaid’s getting ready robes

Eeek, 4 months to go! In May, I want to:

– start exploring wedding party/parent gifts

– order my wedding ring
– pick a seamstress and take my dress in to begin alterations
Ummm… these lists add up fast!
