My fiance and I got engaged at the end of August, which made the timing for a wedding date a little awkward… I had always wanted a long engagement because I’m such a headcase. I know it will be better for everyone involved if we have plenty of time to plan everything. The problem is that I went dress shopping immediately. I couldn’t help myself! Everything I try on looks great on my figure but the only dress thats really felt like “me” and stood out from the rest is Mimi by Wtoo. I love the fit and style, it just need a little something more! I have decided against the large flower it comes with, which is detachable. My eye instantly goes right to it and I want to know everyone, especially my fiance, is seeing the whole shabang and not distracted by the one noticable detail of the dress.
That being said, I found the Lea Ann Belter “Azalea” belt looked wonderful with it but its $450!!!! And I can’t find it anywhere online! I couldn’t get any pictures of it all together because the salon we were at didn’t allow pictures unless you purchased the dress.
I am in dire need of some ideas for what to wrap around my waist in this dress! The other few belts I’ve tried on (which have run the gamut) never quite pop enoughor fit with it’s style…. Only thing I’m sure about is the sensational Sara Gabriel veil I’m wearing in the following pics. Also going to do the vibrant belt at the end for the reception, which I did get to try with Mimi and was perfection!
I’m also having a hard time with not shopping anymore and can’t control my urge to want to try on more dresses. When I’m in my dress its perfect but out of it, I just can’t commit! What do I do?!?!?!

@callmebogie: I don’t know what you should put in its place but I’m glad you got rid of that oversized flower on that pretty dress. I love that style dress, it’s just pretty!
Something else to consider–another flower, but not one of size. One that is smaller and with bling or a bit of feather.

Get you a belt on etsy. They have many shops and some are so pretty and you need a little bling!

I think that dress is gorgeous! I also love the idea of changing out the belt for the reception. I think that if you are still wanting to dress shop, you shouldn’t commit. This dress will still be there for ordering, right? Do you have a wedding date set? Good luck..

@callmebogie: You look beautiful in that gown however, I voted for “start fresh with a different dress.” Your wedding date is noted as August 2014. If you still have an urge to try on more dresses then you should let yourself do just that before you commit to any gown! In general you can wait until 9-12 months before your wedding to order a gown. Most gowns can be ordered even later than that. It all depends on the designer that you choose to go with. For example, my gown is by Monique Lhuillier, and I was told that it needed to be ordered 9 months before my wedding in order for it to come in on time.
How many salons have you gone to? How many dresses have you tried on? New dresses come out every season. I would definitely wait a little longer.

LOVE IT! I think you found your dress. It’s not too early. Seriously. Stick with it. I found my dress on my first day of shopping and finally came back around to it and bought it tonight. 🙂 Go with your gut. I personally love the flower because it’s unique. Not many girls could pull it off but it looks so stunning on you.

i love the dress & tried on that one too. it looks great on you. but i think if you already want to try on other dresses this early, you’re setting yourself up for dress regret. maybe giveyourself some time to try on some more. you can always come back to this one.
