I don’t know if I’d run that morning. Maybe the day before? Is it your first race? Either way a Disney princess wedding sounds so fantastic!

@dewingedpixie:  I’m not sure how avid a runner you are, but no I would never do this personally.  I used to be a marathon runner and back in those days still I would never do it, even a 5k.  So much adrenaline goes into even the shortest races, you’ll be exhausted.

I also wouldn’t get married there that weekend since the hotels will be booked up and it will just be craziness!

    Just me though…

I would run a local 5k morning of, but not a half. I also wouldn’t want to be at Disney and inviting guests to Disney the weekend that half the roads are shut down for the races. Have you done a Disney race? I’ve done three. You’ll need to factor in quite a bit of time for post-race and transportation back to your hotel. Only certain hotels have transportation, so you will either be staying at one fo those host hotels which will be overrun with runners or staying at a different resort and then you have another logistical step to factor in to get you from the race end, to the satellite lot and then to your hotel. Then if you want to eat, nap, and get ready for a formal event… I’m not sure that’s going to be enough time. I got married at 5:30pm and started with hair and makeup at noon.

No way Jose. My wedding was at 5pm and we started hair and makeup at literally 9am in the morning. Adding a run early on in the day would add a whole new layer of stress to the day that you don’t need. I was tired enough that night without adding the physcial exhaustion of a race the same day!
