I don’t know why my original post got marked as spam and disappeared! I tried on this ivory column dress at BHDLN today and really liked it. It’s my favorite out of the 30 or so dresses I’ve tried in the past 5 months. It needs tailoring and possibly a different sash but I can see myself wearing it with a lace trimmed cathedral veil and an Old Hollywood hairstyle. I’m also getting tired of looking for a dress! What do you guys think?
P.S. the poll won’t let me put a “Yes” option, maybe it’s a sign.

I think it’s stunning! Old Hollywood Glamour for sure!

I like it! Your figure looks amazing in it! What makes you have doubts? And I can totally relate to being tired of dress shopping. I was thiiis close to settling but I suck it our for one more weekend and found my dream dress! Good luck to you. And my vote is “yes” 😉

I think its absolutely amazing. But if you have to say “maybe this dress” then I dont think its what you really want.

very classic and beautiful! but if you’re not sure, just keep looking!

The back is gorgeous but the front is boring.

Thanks, bees! I really did like it at the store and felt good in it. The drape is forgiving so I don’t have to give up pizza for breakfast this year. I’ve been looking for something covered up with sleeves and this is the opposite of that so I was surprised that I preferred this over the rest. I like the back but the front could use a little oomph– maybe a beaded sash? I will also look at J.Crew but it’s a relief to find something I can picture myself wearing in case I don’t find anything I like more.

I think it’s amazing! I actually like it better without the veil, but only because you get to see more of the gorgeous dress. It looks amazing on you too 🙂

I agree that maybe a different sash would look better (but I love the bow in the back) but as far as the rest of the dress, I think it looks great!

Keep looking. I was at the same point you are at & i had the same feeling with a dress & bought it on the spot. Now i regret it. I still think the dress is stunning but now I feel like I bought it because I was sick of looking. So here I am STILL looking & I will most likely end up with 2 dresses!

I think the dress is gorgous on you but I second the thought that the veil isn’t quite right with it. I like the length, just not the lace trim. Are you sold on that? What about a more simple veil? Maintain the drama without the distracting detailing. Like this (a BHLDN as well):
