Hi bees. So my wedding was last weekend and we had it on a beautiful dock on the beach. I got all done up in a big wedding dress with perfect hair and makeup. Everything was perfect. So right after the actual wedding ceremony, the photographer had the brilliant idea to tell the bridemades and I to go by the edge of the dock (no barriers) and jump for a cute picture. We did, and the friggn dock collapsed. All 7 of us fell into the ocean before anyone could save us and we were completely submerged. When we were pulled back up our outfits were ruined. I lost a heel in the ocean and the wedding dress was soaked. Everyone looked like a wet rat. My sister cried a little but no one else was too upset. We didnt want to ruin the wedding so we tried to fix ourselves up as much as possible. We took our ruined makeup and shoes off and tried to dry out hair the best we could. I always have some makeup on so it was super weird going without it at first. The rest of the wedding went well, we laughed the situation off and are some delicious cake. It was honestly kinda liberating not having to worry about my appearance. We took another picture with the girls twords the end of the wedding that was very different. Even though we looked crazy we had a good time and an experience we won’t forget anytime soon. Anyway, that’s my story!

Gah that sounds horrible and I’m so glad no one got hurt with debris from the dock and thankfully everyone could swim! It’s awesome that you were able to laugh it off and take it in stride, sounds like some fun photos to look back on with your girls!

ashleyc91 : I would be absolutely dying for those pictures to come back. You know the photographer took a ton before what was happening registered. The whole of my being would be waiting to see how they turned out and hoping just one was frame-worthy. Glad you didn’t let it ruin your day!

I’m glad you have a good spirit about it. I’m sorry but at first glance I giggled. On a positive note, you’ll all look back and laugh at it and the photos will be priceless. It’ll make a great story to tell also haha! But congrats!

I hope someone was filming this lol. You did exactly the right thing with exactly the right attitude. A lot of brides could learn a lesson from you.

At least it happened after the ceremony and everyone got to see you all dolled up! Still definitely a bummer though however, I’m so glad you made the most of it regardless of the circumstances! Definitely one of those things you see in those too wedding fail videos 😂
Speaking of, my fave on YouTube is the one where the ceremony is taking place by this fountain or pool edge. The best man stepped forward to hand off the ring, tripped and pushed the officient and bride into the water while trying to regain his balance 🙈 I feel terrible every time I watch it but holy crap thinking of how mortified the best man must’ve felt brings out my inner sadist and makes me laugh lol. Hope that bride was as chill as you!

I’m so glad you were able to enjoy the rest of the wedding day! Many people may have let that ruin their day.. myself included probably.
