You need to talk to your supervisor again. Tell him or her exactly what you’ve told us — that this coworker is making your life miserable, this situation is making you physically ill, and that you plan on leaving if something isn’t done about it. If you have emails, texts, anything as proof, bring them. If other people can back up your story, bring them too.

How does she have the right to tell you and your other co-worker that you can’t call out sick ever again? Next time you’re not feeling well I would cough on her and tell her that you hate to be spreading your germs at work but since you’re not allowed to take a sick day, you have no other choice!

Is there nowhere else you can sit between now and when your boss comes back? Is he totally unreachable while in Atlanta? If you can contact your boss somehow, maybe he’ll allow you to work from home, or work from his office.

I would just try my very best to ignore her. But don’t let her get away with calling you those names. Tell her it’s RUDE for her to keep opening her mouth and berating you for no reason. Maybe try to remind her that you’re in a WORKPLACE, not hanging out at a bar or something.

Good luck!

Maybe you should simply ask your co-worker what her problem is? Tell her to be civil in the work place, and then on monday when you boss is back have a meeting together?

If it’s apparently okay to act like a child at work.. Treat her like a child haha.

I think you need to just ignore her and let it roll off your back.  It’s not worth getting so upset over some nutjob at your office and letting her ruin your life.  If you can’t do that, time to look for something new.

Gosh. that sounds like a terrible work place environment to be in when most of your life is spent at work. i feel for you. im having troubles at work at the moment too with certain co-workers and its such a horrible feeling walking into work when you know theyre going to be there. I actually feel sick some times coz im not the confrentational type to stick up for myself. I think you are doing well just to still be there when your management doesnt even care that your getting harrassed all the time. You sound like a strong person. I think you should try and stick it out until the move is over and look fro some where else to work. but i know thats easier said than done!

Does she even have the right to tell you that you can’t call in sick to work anymore?  She’s just a co-worker right?

If she’s bullying you and your manager is out of town, the next time she snaps I’d prolly say:

“Look!  Enough of the bullying and negative comments.  Until *the boss* comes back just don’t talk to me unless you have something work related to say!  You obviously have issues with me and we can most certainly discuss them WITH our boss when she returns but until then, you have no right to talk to me this way so STOP it!”

I’ve been there too with agressive people like this and they are so TOXIC.  I chose to find another job because the bully was my boss but I really wish it couldve been resolved.  I really liked my job.  Hope things can work out for you!

Since this has now become habit, I would start looking for a new position. I wouldn’t quit before I had a new job, but there’s no sense in you staying some place that makes you miserable.

And the no sick time thing– do you have sick days alotted or is it willy nilly? If you have days alotted, that’s a pretty odd/bad thing to say. And really… if you’re sick, you should stay home.
