Hi Bees! Back when we were choosing our honeymoon, a bunch of well-seasoned crusing bees helped me pick between two itineraries. We picked a cruise, and next weekend we are meeting with an agent at the cruise authority to help us with transfers, and talk to us about excursions. I’m VERY hesitant to book anything before we go through the cruise company, so I need some help.
(1) Based on our ports (listed below) what excursions should we book before we go?
(2) Should we look into booking any outside of the cruise company but before we go? If so, which ports/excursions?
(3) Should we pay for the transfers through the crusie company to/from our first and last ports or should we book that on our own (via train or otherwise)? We are departing from Civitavecchia, but will be spending 1.5 days in Rome before we leave. The last port is Venice, from which we will go directly to the airport to head home.
Ports (in order): Civitavecchia, Monte Carlo, Florence/Pisa (Livorno), Naples/Capri, (at sea), Santorini, Mykonos, Athens (Piraeus), Katakolon (Olympia), Corfu, Split, Venice (two days/nights)
Thanks so much in advance! I’m a first time cruiser, so I just want to avoid making an obvious planning mistakes!
