I’m not medical, but there may be something stuck in your eye that you can’t see. When you say you’re sitting still, are you at a computer or watching tv? My eyes water if I focus on an electronic screen for too long.

I’ve heard that also happens when you have dry eyes.  Ironic, eh?

@AbbyDabbyDoodleBug: My hubby does this when his sinuses start acting up…actually it just started again a few days ago.

It sounds like you should go to the doctor now..wandering eyes, especially the left can signify things. I’m not trying to scare you but it’s always good to get it checked out by a pro…better to be safe than sorry!

@AbbyDabbyDoodleBug: Yeah, I had that problem when I was sick (mine turned out to be conjunctivitis), but when I looked it up and asked people – they said it COULD be dry eye.  But I could be wrong as well.

I get random eye watering from time to time, but it always goes away on its own. But I also don’t drink enough water, so maybe they are related?

@AbbyDabbyDoodleBug: Don’t med yourself up with out really knowing. They have solution in the store for flushing your eyes out. You also can use drops.

I’m not a medical bee, but is your eyelid swollen at all? Is it tender to the touch? Usually your eye will water if something’s in it or bothering it.

I would get lubricating eyedrops (NOT the reducing redness ones, those are bad for your eye) & use it asap (the high quality ones that are like $15 for a bottle).

I avoid the doctor & prefer “home remedies” unless its serious. The 1 thing I will drop everything for is eyes after what happened last year (2 examples below). If you’re having an eye problem, its so close to the brain that it can develop into something serious.

I had a small bump IN my eyelid. I waited 2 days before going to the dr & I had an infection & he said if I waited a few days longer to go in, it could have been very serious. He said if it got worse at all, I’d have to go in for surgery.

My husband’s eye started watering a lot, but it was at night & all eye drs were close. He had a tiny little speck behind his eyelid, the eye dr lifted up his eyelid & used a qtip to get the speck out & gave him eye drops. He said it was slightly embedded in his lid because he went to sleep with that speck in there. It scratched up his eye (not too deep, just slightly) just from 1 night.

I usually don’t post on these types of threads because I feel like if you have a medical issue you should go to a doctor. But, I had this problem and it ended up being an infected tear duct. The tear duct was too swollen to let tears drain through it. It started by just watering alot but then as it got more infected, it got painful. I just wanted to share because no one could figure out what was going on for awhile and it ended up getting really dangerous. So if you start feeling pain sort of in the corner of your eye, worth a mention to your doctor as a possibilty.

OMG……I’m going through the same thing!  My right eye has been watering for over a week now!  It doesn’t itch, it’s not swollen or anything like that.  It’s just constantly watering.  I have to keep kleenex’s with me all day because of the tear that keeps running out of my eye…..I’m growing tired of it!

My left eye has been non stop watering for the past week and a bit. I’m so annoyed with it that it’s making me angry because it keeps happening all the time. Sometimes it does it and then I wipe it a few times and it stops for a couple of seconds which makes me feel relieved but then I start thinking about it and it starts watering again. Most people think it’s hayfever because it’s like getting to summer but barely anyone else has it and I’ve never had hayfever before and I’m not allergic to anything either. It’s worse when I go outside but it does happen when I’m inside too. To be honest I do wear quite a bit of mascara and when I take it off it gets a bit better but I’m not gonna be walking around or going to school with no makeup on because without it I look like a little ugly toad and everyone will probably take the mick out of me. I got my dad to buy me some hayfever tablets from the shop about 2 days ago but its not doing anything to help. I don’t really want to go to the doctors because I feel as if it’s not serious enough. It’s seriously annoying so much though so I hope someone can help me.
