Hahaha I totally get that analogy about the toddler! I do almost all of the housework and when he is home he’s kind of out of it. Five years long distance though? That must have been really hard. I’m lucky that we’ve never really had to be long distance (well, we were for like 2 months one summer, but that’s it). At least I get to see him most nights, even if it is for just a few minutes. We only have one car so I drive him to and from work. People think it’s crazy that we share a car in Los Angeles, but that’s my time with him! I’ll take what I can get! Thanks for your support 🙂
I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had similar struggles to me. I think I really need to take getting a hobby seriously. My hobbies right now include reading (does that count?), walking around with my dog, and baking (can’t do that all the time!). I should consider something… I have a sewing machine, maybe I should get that out! Thanks for your support, and you are right, our husbands are working for us to have a realllly awesome life in a few years! I hope everything is going well with you!
Wow, it sounds like you’ve had to sacrifice a lot too with your husband! Based on what I’ve seen about your relationship on here, it seems like you have a strong relationship. I guess it’s good that our husbands have important jobs that make them so fulfilled and happy! I know what you mean about not quite having the “newlyweds” experience. I think that’s what’s hard for me right now. I’ll come to terms with it though. Thanks for your support!
Thanks for your support and empathy! Sometimes it just feels good that I’m not the only one in this position… Misery loves company? Lol… I’m glad you’re out of that year though! There is light at the end of the tunnel I guess! Thanks again for your support.
I’ve heard intern year is the worst, as well. He’s doing his Internal Medicine residency right now (3 years), then plans to go into Cardiology… I hear first year of Cards fellowship is supposed to be hard too. Good luck with medical school! Even though it’s hard on the partners of those in the medical profession, it’s harder on those in school!
Thanks for your support! I really do need to remember the light at the end of the tunnel. One day, we will be able to spend some good, quality time together!
Wow. BOTH of you are residents! That’s intense. Are you both in the same year? That’s good that you work in the same hospital, although I imagine that you’re both so busy you must not see each other much. My husband’s on ICU right now and is on nights. I think that’s the hardest for me! Not having him to sleep next to is hard! Luckily my dog is a good snuggler 🙂 Thanks for the support, and I wish you and your fiance the best as you move forward in residency! ….Also I can’t wait for Game of Thrones to come back!!! (Love the screen name!)
Wow that schedule sounds so hard! Particularly the unpredictability of it all. Will he always have a job like that? Do you guys get to communicate when he’s gone? Thanks for the support, I hope things are going well for you!
