Portuguese food IS awsome and i am a big fan of the Alentejo food (a big region in the south, where my maternal family is from). Willing to share some great, scented and tasty recipes! Like Gaspacho, Mioleira de couve-flor, Açorda!
Here’s a recipe of a practical meal me and my husband sometimes prepare for us, with quails!
-4 quails already prepared, half a dozen grapes, a little bacon, garlics, pepper, whiskey
On a pan with a bit of butter, roast the quails till they are a little golden, turning them so they’re evenly toasted. Add small strips of bacon, a little freshly grounded peper, sliced garlic (3), let it all cook. Lastly add half a dozen really sweet grapes and a bit of whiskey (or Port wine) and let is cook a little more so that in the end you get 4 beautifully toasted and scented quails. Serve with a nice salad ans toasted bread. It’s delicious!
