The last wedding I attended a few weeks ago included a “Meet the Wedding Party” section in the back of the program. It was about 4-7 sentences about each member of the wedding party including information like where they went to school, what their job was, how long they’d been married for/how many kids (if applicable), where they lived and any random fact like ‘So and So and Bride have the nine year tradition of Sunday bike rides up Mulberry Trail.’ or ‘So and So is a huge Penguins fan.’ Anyone else seen this?
I like the idea, since FI’s extended family and my extended family have never met (he is from CAN and I am from US) so it’d be a nice way for them to know about the bridal party.. What do you think?

I haven’t seen it but I really like the idea and think it would be a great way to make your wedding more personal. Our DJ encouraged us to write a small bio (a few sentances) on each of the wedding party members so he could introduce them to our guests. It’s a fun idea!

i like this idea. adds some honor to being part of the wedding party. i would email each person their “bio” and see if they approve of it.

I’ve seen this too and I think it’s nice way to honor people and let people your other guests know who the people in your party are.
However, I’ve also heard people say that guests spent the ceremony time reading the program and bios rather than watching the actual wedding. That said, if people are going to look to read something they’ll probably find something to occupy them. I think that most people will read them while they wait for the wedding to start and then pay attention 🙂
