Yes! Fiance and I are a Match.com couple!

I had been divorced/single for about 7 years when, last year, my girlfriends finally talked me into doing a dating profile, for no other reason than to just get out of the dang house once in awhile!!! So, I reluctantly posed for cute profile pics and had help putting together a VERY straight-forward no BS profile!

Fiance was fresh out of divorce…a 25 year marriage!!! He hopped onto match just to polish up his ego and to move on from the divorce. He says he NEVER thought he’d “capture lightening in a jar” so quickly. He too, had dated several women, but nothing particularly special happened for him.

I dated several men…some very nice, and quite a few freaks n toads!! It was a long arduous process, and, after dating one particular guy for awhile, I took my profile down and we decided to be exclusive…or so I thought…turns out, he was a cheater, liar, and actually STILL MARRIED!!! So, that burnt me BAD and I left my profile down for a long time.

Literally, THE DAY my girlfriends talked me back into turning my profile back on, my now Fiance winked at and emailed me πŸ˜‰

His first email was so gentle and sweet and forthcoming. My first impression was “wow! He thinks and talks like me! I coulda written this!” we began a phone, text, email relationship and logged soooooooo many hours just talking and talking, slowly becoming part of one another’s days and nights. This went on for WEEKS (actually about 2 months)  We only live like 2 miles apart too πŸ˜‰ our kids go to same schools, we’ve attended the same church….always so close but so far these last 15 years or so.

By the time we were both pretty sure this could go somewhere, we agreed to meet in person. It was soooooo surreal, and out of this world! To have gotten to know the deep “guts” and absolute fabric of a person but not have met them in person yet!!! But when we first laid eyes oneach other it was absolute majic, and we both just knew. I remember texting my girlfriend from the bathroom, giving her an update, my words were “yep. This is even better than I could have ever hoped or expected…I’m in BIG TROUBLE here!!!!”

So, here we are all these months later…we will be marrying on approx the date of our first live in person meeting. This has absolutely been an answer to my most heartfelt prayers. He is the miracle of my perfect partner, perfect mate.

I keep telling him, seriously, we totally need to do a match.com commercial!!!!

Darling Husband and I are also a match.com couple πŸ˜‰

We still joke about his first wink at me lol and how it’s so surreal how it all happened. Darling Husband at the time had been on match for at least a year and I joined on a whim just because I was bored. During my 3 day free trial he winked at me and we started emailing back n forth. About a week later we started texting then we called each other. Three weeks later we met in person because I HAD this urge to meet him and see if this was gonna go somewhere or if I was wasting my time. A month later we became bf/gf, 7 months later we got engaged and 1 year later we got married.

Such a whirlwind but I can’t imagine being without him and it’s funny because we both tell eachother that we would’ve never approached each other in reality. We’re both too shy and he thought I was way out of his league lol.

Two of my cousins and I all met our SO’s online.  My grandmother has been sad she hasn’t been able to tell any “meet-cutes” about us!  ha.

Another match.com couple. πŸ™‚

I was on the last week of my subscription before I was going to let it lapse and he would be my last date, and he was on the beginning of his 3 month membership. Whoops! He said he almost didn’t go out with me because I was on the lowest end of the ages he was interested in (he was 30 and I was 25 at the time). I’m glad he did!

Our first date lasted 8 hours. Dinner until the restaurant closed, then to a bar for drinks until THAT closed, and then to my house where we watched bad infomercials until 5 in the morning – we just never stopped freaking talking! He came over again the next day to bring me lunch and we’ve been together ever since. I moved in around 5 months together, he proposed at 9 months, and we were married at a year and half. Couldn’t imagine my life without him!

I also met my Fiance on plenty of fish.com!!! I had never done the whole online dating thing, but I was told by a friend to try it. Me and him actually only lived 20 min apart and come to find out I worked with his aunt!!! We moved in together after 6 month and we actually just had our 1 year anny sunday. We are getting married in March. He is also going to adopt my 2 year old as soon as we get married. I think that as long as you know its right who cares if it is moving to fast! Congrats on everything =)

Fiance and I are an eharmony couple!

He had apparently been on several dating sites for a while, and I checked out eharmony just for the quiz. I left it alone for months, and went back one night I was bored and lonely. I saw this profile I thought sounded perfect and debated joining just so I could talk to him. That weekend happened to offer a special on membership, so I joined and immediatly began communication with this guy whose profile I liked so much.

We hit it off immediately through our communications, and he wanted to meet up in person. I was so hesitant, I kept making excuses, etc. Then one friday night I said “what the hell” and messaged him to meet me Sunday before I went to work for a cup of coffee.

I forgot that Sunday happened to be Valentine’s Day. How cliché! I thought he’d surely think I was nuts. He said Sunday was perfect πŸ™‚ And he didn’t realize it was Valentine’s Day til later, haha.

So we met for coffee, he brought me a stem of pink carnations. We had the most amazing time, and at the end of our date the beautiful sunny day we were enjoying turned dark and grey. Not kidding, either. As we said our goodbyes a nasty cold front moved in and it got cold and dark. We joked later that the world turned dark and bleak because we were parting ways.

Three years after our first date we will be 5 day old newlyweds! πŸ™‚

Yep! Fiance and I met about 11 years ago on a website that was kinda similar to myspace/facebook. We were just friends for a long while, but we both had feelings for one another. He came to see me at the end of my freshman year in college and 6.5 years later, we’re still together. We’ve been long distance (FL to IN, and now Chicago to IN) for all of those 6.5 years, and I cannot wait to be married to him so that we can finally live together.

Match.com for us too! I was feeling frustrated with dating and he was going to be my last date before I closed my account. I almost canceled but I didn’t want to be rude. That was a little over two years ago and he just bought a ring. Sure glad I didn’t cancel! Oh and he was a year older than my preferred age but I took a risk πŸ˜‰ it definitely paid off!

My Fiance and I met on OkCupid. I had a profile up on and off for a little over a year. I’d dated quite a few guys and was sick of them all turning out to be crappy. So I changed my profile and specified that I wanted friends, no dating. He had just moved to Oregon from Pennsylvania and was also trying to make friends via OkC. I saw his profile, rated him a 4 or 5 so it sent him an email, and then he read my profile, liked what he saw and messaged me. We exchanged numbers after the first message (I came to hate long-winded back and forth messages that went nowhere) and we texted back and forth a bit. We met two days later, and despite our intentions of being totally platonic, we were smitten with each other. We moved in together after 3 months, he proposed almost exactly a year after we met, and we are getting married next September. I still can’t believe my good luck. I literally did not think I’d ever meet the man I’d spend the rest of my life with on a dating website (I really thought I’d just meet casual dates on there), but I guess it happens when you least expect it.
