- Wedding: March 2013
Ladies…I don’t know about you, but I am in the stage of wedding planning where I am SO OVER planning this wedding. I’m a teacher and I write lesson plans all week and I discipline all day and then I come home to trying to plan a wedding at the same time. AGH! Ok done venting…:-)
I have a meeting tomorrow with our DJ to discuss our ceremony music (we’re getting married outdoors and he’s doing the music for our ceremony. So far I have been underprepared for my meetings mostly bc I’ve been like “I’m fine with whatever you think is best.” However, with this I want to be planned.
So here’s my laydown and I need some huge input on whether you think it’s too fast, then too slow, doesn’t flow, too much of this..I just don’t want to appear underprepared for tomorrow. I think our event is going from semi-formal to semi-casual with the way I’m doing things it seems (a DJ for our ceremony, I mean that can’t be formal). I hate this feeling, but I have been cutting things left and right to keep a happy groom.
Interlude—-Various love songs
Seating of the Mothers/Grandmothers—Arioso by Bach
Wedding Procession of Bridesmaids/Groomsmen—-Love Story Meets Viva La Vida by Piano Guys
Bridal Procession- Theme from Brideshead Revisited
I want to do a unity ceremony song but my Fiance said there was no need for one bc the officiant would be doing more talking that would take over the need for music. Then I explained about how my mom really wanted me to play the song The Wedding Song by Paul Stookey bc she had that at her wedding and so far my mom has not gotten anything she’s asked for in this wedding and she’s the one paying. (Don’t get me started on the concessions I’m just nonstop making for this wedding) I said we’ll need something playing while we pour sand and he said well what are we going to do when we finish pouring sand and the song is still playing? Ask him to fade out?
We don’t have a recessional song and I am so at a loss for what to pick. Can yall tell me if my music selection sucks and the vendor is going to look at me like I’m clueless? I am at the stage of just wanting to copy someone else’s ceremony and reception entertainment bc I feel like I have ideas that are all over the place (I blame pinterest and a Fiance who has given me ridiculous stipulations to work with to the point that I dread thinking what our pictures will look like bc he’s going to be too busy looking at his watch).
