My Fiance and I are meeting with our officiant tonight re: order of the ceremony, how we see it/want it to go, what we want said, etc.
We met once last weekend for the first time. Tonight it’s going to be to “wrap things up” hopefully.
I am honestly feeling rather “lost” here. My Fiance and I are actually legally married as of May 2010 . . . so we are doing this as our “real” wedding. So some aspects are a little changed up. But over all, this is a real, traditional Christian wedding I think. The only other thing we’re adding so far, is our own “vows” more like dedications to each other in the presence of friends and family.
So, where do I begin? What do I need to have prepared for tonight? Any ideas? Order of ceremony ideas? Must-haves? Thanks!!!

Generally this is what I’ve seen for a traditional Christian wedding.
Giving Away of the Bride
Words on marriage from the officiant
Another hymn or Vows
Exchanging of rings
Sign the marriage certificate/registry
Obviously tweak whatever you want. I’ve also seen readings done before the vows. I hope that helps.

Don’t stress! If your officiant is organized, he will have a general outline with him to show you how weddings he performs USUALLY go. You’ll be free to tweak it, I’m sure.
When I contacted my officiant via e-mail, he sent me a survey to fill out with our general information, what general feel we want for the ceremony, any additional (read: non-traditional) things we want included, etc. Maybe making a simple list of a few of these things might be good for you to do.
