A brand new Bee here :). I’m hoping some of you have either got married or attended weddings in Williamstown, and can give me some recommendations of venues to look at? Hoping to have the ceremony and the reception all at the same venue.

I thought for sure I’d have some luck for you on Polka Dot Bride but alas, nothing! Always worth emailing “Ms Polka” if you’re up for it though, they do sections from time to time where they hunt out venues for people 🙂 It’s an awesome blog and the mysterious Ms Polka has been incredibly helpful for solving random wedding-related “Where do I find XXXX???” questions for me before! @rebelsquest: What about the Town Hall? I am pretty sure that the council rents it out for weddings. Contact Hobsons bay council. Here is the website info
They also have a couple of other old buildings ont he books like Mechanics Institute.
You could also try Museums Victoria as they have the Scienceworks museum on the edge of Williamstown and they have the old pump house buildings on the site. Here is their website and there is a great picture of a wedding set up there
I have been to weddings at Pelicans landing, The rocks and blue stones. All of them were really nice.
Belle of the bay and Sirens are other places I have heard of but have not been to a wedding there.

Thanks bees! We’re looking at The Rocks tomorrow, have looked at Pelicans Landing and didn’t really like the set up of the room, and the pillars/shape.

@rebelsquest: I got married in July and had the reception at Belle of the Bay on Nelson Place! I think you can also have your ceremony there. It was amazing- helpful staff, awesome food and a really nice venue.

We viewed The Rocks at Williamstown today. It was absolutely beautiful, I loved it, great view and ambience. We put in a hold for our tentative date of 29.11.14, and we’re going back in two weeks to see it set up for a wedding.
Only slight issue is they have a minimum spend of $10k on food and beverages, we were hoping for something slightly cheaper. But the reception will be our main expense, we are having the ceremony on site, and probably won’t do a DJ or band, just an iPod.
Kirsten, the events manager, was absolutely lovely, and the venue has only been open since March, so is still very new.

Just bumping this thread to say I have found a fantastic local photographer, Harmonique Photography. Very happy with them so far, reasonably priced and you have two photographers for your whole day.
