I don’t think it matters, especially if your brother is over the age of ten. I wouldn’t be upset by that. Also–possible date twins! We’re getting married 5/29/16.

My daughter was married the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, and only 10% declined the invitation. One couple said they’d be at the beach. The NJ shore is about an hour away. Her sister married the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Declines were more like 30%. His side had to drive 3.5 hours. Also there seem to be a lack of interest, on his side (missing RSVPs, cancellations, etc.), so it might be related to the groom’s side and not the holiday weekend.

rosecut:  Personally, my thought was that my Out of Town guests were more likely to attend as they had an extra day off work. However, I know that no one in my family uses that weekend to go on any trips. If you have people who are really important to you who usually use the long weekend for something, I’d reconsider.
