I know that some are against having a memorial ceremony during a wedding, but I’m not one of those people. My dad passed away April 10, 2008 from lung cancer. It hurts so much that he won’t be able to be here with me and I wanted to light a candle and play a song in honor of him. I was thinking Address In The Stars by Caitlin & Will. Any more suggestions for a song? Is anyone else out there doing something like this in honor of a loved one who can no longer be with you on your wedidng day??

First of all I’m so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose your dad. I think you memorializing him is so beautiful.
I had a song played for my grandmother (not wedding related). It was “Amazing Grace” by Celtic Woman. It is so beautiful and will take your breath away. The words are so peaceful and remind us we will see them again somehow.

I am also doing a memorial for my mom who passed away and was my best friend. I think I’m going to use Gonna Get There Someday by Dierks Bentley

I am doing a memorial song as well for my wedding… One sweet day by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men. The question that I have is, at what point doI play the song? Do I play the song during my ceremony and if I do, how do I bring it in and if I do it in the reception, at what point do I play it? the reception just seems so busy. As soon as we get back from photos, it seems so back to back with dances.. Please help.. This song means a lot to me.. I no longer have both of my parents with me and this will be for the both of them.
