What type of mattress do you have and do you love it? What’s the brand?
Fiance loves a firm mattress and we are ready to get a new one together and this may be harder than dress shopping. We have no idea the type of mattress we want. We know we want a king size and did stay at a friends that has a memory foam that we liked but no clue how the long run is. I can sleep on anything the first few weeks and after that I get fussy but if it’s firm he’s asleep. So bees what do you have and what are the positive and negatives?

We have a memory foam mattress and love it. Super comfy. Temur pedic’s are crazy expensive, we actually got ours from Walmart! If you look up memory foam mattress on their website you will see several with 5 star reviews with the best prices you will find anywhere. Downside you don’t get to lay on it and try it out like a store but we are planning on buying it through them again when we get another mattress.

We have a high quality firm mattress but it started to give Darling Husband problems. He had a tempur pedic before and he wanted the same type of sleep experience again. So instead of chucking our 1 yr old mattress with got a gel foam pad from Costco. Now I fall asleep in ten minutes which is just amazing for me. DH likes this better than the tempur pedic because it’s firmer but still as soft as a pillow. I think of it like sleeping on a cloud. But since the pad is like 4 inches you sink into it but not all the way. The pad is cool when you get in but it absorbs your body heat and warms up quickly. I love it.

@mrs.stormylove: we are prepared for the price as the wedding is half of what we planned so we figured we’d splurge on the mattress. We were hoping to try them out as he doesn’t like buying without testing but well see if he budges.

Darling Husband and I just bought a king size mattress 2 weeks ago. I thought I wanted a tempurpedic or some other type of memory foam mattress but I didn’t like it that much when I tried it at the store. I found it too hard for my liking and I didn’t like the way it felt when I turned. I love my memory foam pillow but a whole mattress made of memory foam was too much for me.
We ended up getting this Beautyrest:

@waitingforthering2: well if budget is not a problem my friend bought a tempur pedic for like 5 grand and says it was worth every penny;)

@waitingforthering2: Tempurpedic Allura, love it, have never slept better and Fiance feels the same way. What I also love is that one or the other can get up, or toss and turn, and the other never feels it – so we don’t wake each other up. It’s fabulous. 🙂

We have a Sealy Boca Breeze foam/gel mattress, we picked it because it was ~$500 and all other foam matresses we saw were $1200+++, and this was more comfortable than most of them.
It’s a little firm for my taste, but with a softer memory foam topper, it’s perfect.

We just got a 4″ gel memory foam topper from Overstock. LOVE IT. Our mattress set is only 4 years, but as a side sleeper with some hip/endo issues I needed the extra support.

we have a mattress store private brand that is just like the tempurpedics. I love it!!! it’s like sleeping on a marshmallow cloud in heaven. however, it does hold onto body heat more than traditional mattresses. in the summer, if it’s too hot, it can be uncomfortable.
