OK so for those who didnt know, im UK, living in Spain, Fiance is currenly in OK and from OK and im getting married in SC. So plannng this thing has been hard to say the least.
My Fiance chose his own suit and obviously I havent seen it. I havent even seen a photo cos Fiance is so big no store would let him properly try on a suit out of fear he might rip it. Fiance is 6ft 5 and works out A LOT thus he has enormous shoulder and biceps but a very narrow torso. His arms are also very long for his height. Finding a suit for him and his groomsmen was hell. Most suit places assume that someone with his arm span would be 7ft they also assume that someone with his shoulders and arms would just be big all round.
We had a mission trying to find a suit that would fit his unusual body type, that and his our of a blue demand for a non-grey suit. So when he found a Wilke Rodriguez suit I kind of jumped for joy and we bought it. Furthermore it was in menswearhouse which meant our groomsmen who are spread out across America and UK could actually all go buy it. Perfect I thought.
Now I keep looking at the suit on the model and thinking why an earth did i let him buy that suit. To my eye it looks cheap and flimsy next to all the others. He said that it would look better once they tailor it to his body type but I cant picture it. I know in the US they tend to have loose suits for bigger boys but I dont want to see him in that … his torso is so narrow he’ll just look like hes swimming in it. I want to see him in a more fitted suit like in UK.
So I need to see photos of other suits that maybe looked crap in store before but look better now, any advice, any suit experts?? Any menswearhouse tailoring done well/badly, any Wilke Rodriguez suits looking great?
