Yes he is. We Demo Cars as in; Demolition Derby Cars. He is also into muscle cars. He has a 1971 Camaro that is his “baby” …. hehe yeah I’m thinking of incorperating old show cars and classic cars into our table numbering scheme somehow…..

Yep, my guy “drags” me to car shows and gets all googly-eyed over the Chevys.  I can look at a car and say, “Oooh, that’s pretty” but that’s about it.  He wants to go look under the hood and try to educate me, but I’m not that interested.

Hmmmmmmmmm, maybe this is like when I drag him to jewelry stores to look at engagement rings………Uh oh, lol.

My husband is building a replica of a ’65 Shelby Cobra right now!  We intend to show it when it’s done, and go to car shows often (and we live in NASCAR country, though neither of us are into NASCAR, so there are a lot of shows).  We don’t intend to have any children, so she’s our baby.  For our cake topper, I had someone on etsy make a Cobra with us in it.

Mine too girl.  We’re from the Detroit metro area, and he worked for Saleen before moving to Texas.  Done the car show thing too.  Watched Trucks and all those shows on TV.  Shoot, I even know who Chip Foos is and what he does for a living.

Have to say though – it’s a friggin blessing to have a man’s man.  He paints armored vehicles for the goverment here, always working with his hands.  Has no clue about computers or technology — and these days, I am happy for that!

Also, can I just say how AWESOME it is to never worry about getting totally screwed over at a car repair shop?  I haven’t taken my oil to get changed in 3 years!  Outrageous prices of getting new brake pads?  Out the window.  Baby does all the labor for me 😉

Mr. Starfish is into cars too. He’s on message boards online for it and goes to meet ups with other guys with the same model. I’ve actually gone to a couple meet ups with him. Mr. S has a typhoon, which I’de never heard of, but people are crazy about them. The few times I’ve seen others, the drivers have actually pulled us over so they can talk cars. It was weird to me at first, but Mr. Starfish loves it.

@namarie: That’s my FI’s favvvvorite car!!  I was really hoping to get him a surprise rental for our getaway car, but I don’t think it’ll happen.  I love your cake topper idea though… I might have to think about doing something like that.

Darling Husband is big into motorcycles.  And cars.  And anything with an engine.  He watches Top Gear all. the. time.  I love that he has a hobby, but I’m not really that into it.  I’m more of a “that car is red, very pretty” person than “that car has a super-charged twin jet engine” or whatev.  (Yes I know that last statement is impossible.  Leave me alone, I don’t know squat about cars except where to put the oil and the gas!)

Yep! Fiance just bought a 1971 Corvette and is fixing it up to it’s original state, it’s a hot car.

@Nerdette: I can completely relate!  I’m starting to pick up identifying cars b/c Darling Husband does it so often while we’re driving or watching tv.  And I can now change my own oil in my motorcycle and can do all sorts of nifty things to my SUV, like add washer fluid, radiator fluid, put on chains, and change the tire!  (That’s major for me, sad I know!)

@AudzinLuv: LMAO! I love this.

Ya, my boy is a car man too. He’s still young so it’s mostly just turbos and rims and such. I don’t have a problem with it. He has the money to do it, it doesn’t effect us financially, and so I’m fine.

However, I will tell you I was heated something fierce when he began his turbo build on my 21st birthday, followed by a car fire, and another $1500 for repairs… all while, might I add, this girl rocks a naked finger. Frugal except when it comes to his car….
