We got our bands made.  He tried on a bunch in various stores, so he knew the metal he liked and the general thickness of the band.  He is not a blingy guy.  So no stones or gems.  He liked a lot of etching.

When we went to the designer he showed Fiance a ring that was his original wedding ring (he’s on his 17th ring now – I guess that’s the hazard of being a jewellery designer!) It has scroll work all over the band.  It’s Celtic looking (FI was born and raised in Ireland) and its not flashy, but it has its own lovely details.

I know Fiance changed the design slightly (either the ring was matte and he went shiny or the opposite… I have to be honest, by that point I was trying on various rings with shiny gems and diamonds that the designer had and I’d started paying more attention to them.  He is a talented man!)

I chose my engagement ring and wedding set (same designer) so it’s only fair that Fiance chose his.  And he’s wearing it, so I want him to love it.  I couldn’t tell you what his ring cost.  I know the final price tag for all our bands (I’m getting 2 half eternity bands and he’s getting his ring.)  But I don’t know the breakdown by ring.  There’s no way its more than 1k though.  The other front runner for Fiance was at Birks and it was 3k, and we had decided that was far too much for a plain band.
