madelineacting :  Hello! My husband, who hates jewelry, wanted something “manly” and black. Lord knows he got exactly that. He chose an 8mm wide brushed back zirconium ring. He chose the wider one for comfort and black because it’s his favorite color. Can we see a picture of what you guys chose for his ring?

My husband’s band is brushed in the middle and then shiny on the outside:

My fiance wears an engagement ring. His is brushed black tungsten carbide with a rose gold interior and a yellow sapphire. It’s also 8mm wide. He wears a size 7 ring, but has decently long fingers. All in all, his hands are pretty small compared to the average man. But, the 8mm ring looks gorgeous on him. He actually prefered a really wide ring because the thin rings made his fingers look longer and thinner.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the width. If you measure it out with a ruler, and compare to  your husband’s hand, 7mm isn’t that large. It will definitely be visible, but not overwhelming on his hand.

My husband’s ring was shiny when we bought it, but, after 15 years, it’s matte now. It’s 9 mm wide, but it doesn’t look huge. He has linebacker hands (size 15), so it’s very proportional.

MY husband has a “hammered” white gold ring. I don’t have a picture. He loves it though!

We went for a tungsten carbide ring. I had no idea how heavy it was for a man’s band.  It is too heavy for comfort.  We are looking at getting a new one in a different metal.
