Hi, Bees! My fiance went to Tiffany’s to go look at wedding bands for himself today, and really liked the 4.5mm Lucida band. But the price is just–yikes! Almost double what we were hoping to spend. I did some research, and found that it seems the height of the band is 1.4mm on the sides, and tapers to 2mm on the top. I think that this is probably what makes so many guys say “I don’t know; I just like it” about this ring!
Has anyone out there been in a similar situation with the Lucida and found a good substitue? I really want him to have a ring he loves, but he thinks its ridiculous to spend the money, even for platinum.

The Lucidia is just a platinum comfort-fit band in the “style” of Tiffany with a simple slightly domed band. Here are two suggestions:
Bluenile men’s midweight comfort fit 4mm platinum ring ($670 for a size 10)
5mm men’s comfort fit platinum ring from Amazon.com ($729 for a size 10)

ittybittykittycommittee: Thanks! I also think this one may work: http://www.bluenile.com/comfort-fit-platinum-wedding-ring_349?track=product&elem=image
It seems to have a little bit more of the “dome” effect that I think the Lucida has.

wvc412: great! and BN has a super easy return policy if it doesn’t work out. He probably won’t even notice the 0.5mm difference in band width (especially for $1,000 in savings)
