Is there anyplace left on the planet where a groom can actually go and try on the style he wished to put his groomsmen in? Every national chain has catalogues and a few mannequins, but really NOTHING, you’d think there would be a David’s Bridal type place for the guys no? No luck at Jims or MWTux…shocking really!

We are also having a problem with the tuxedo places. The thing is my fiance is really tall but is also skinny so if it fits him in the length it doesn’t anywhere else. So he ends up looking like he is drowning in the suite. Which I suppose is better then floating on him. This is why you are having a problem, because all these places have tuxes that either fit one way and not the other. None of them actually do alteration or anything so that the men can actually have a well fit suite. Good luck and if you come up with anything please let me know.

Do you live in or around LA? We rented ours at Mr. Tuxedo because it allowed us to try on the suits. Our groomsmen were from all over the country too, so they sent in their measurements and picked up the suits the morning of the wedding. They did all necessary alterations then.

To the last poster, yes in fact, we did go to Mr Tux in LA, they DO NOT have Cutaways to try on in anything near his size (tall) And although the tuxedos looked fine the cutaways looked really cheap, seems like we can get a Chaps by Ralph Lauren but again…no one has it in stock to look at or try on. I think my Fiance is going to get (BUY) his own and unfortunately his groomsmen will not look as good. We are planning to make all of the vests custom, which wont cost much anyway because the ones you rent have an open back that is adjustable, it just looks ridiculously costumey and cheap! There is one great rental place in Philadelphia, unfortunately-we dont live there! GRRRRR! Someone needs to build a better mousetrap!

I wanted to post on this blog about my recent experience at MW. I was married on 8/14/10 and got fitted for my tux about a month and a half prior to the wedding. I chose MW because my groomsmen all live in diffrent cities on the east coast and wanted them all to be able to get fitted at a MW in their respective city. Because my wedding party was close to 10 people (including groomsmen, ring bearer and fathers) I became eligible for a $400 coupon towards the purchase of a new suit at MW. I was supposed to recieve and use the coupon before the wedding but it never showed up. About a month after my wedding when things in my life had gotten back to normal, went back to the local MW store and inquired about my coupon. They said I should have gotten it in the mail and the offer for the suit was no longer available to me. I called the MW headquarters in Houston Texas to inquire and they quickly contacted my home MW store and put the coupon offer back on my account. I was very happy with the service from the home office and will continue to use MW as a result.
