So my finace and I went to the Mens Warehouse this weekend to pick out the tux’s for the wedding. We chose MW because our wedding party is in two states and felt it would be easier since they are everywhere and I got my bridesmaid dresses at David’s Bridal so we could match the colors exactly. But I have to say I am disappointed because we picked tux’s out from pictures!! They did not have one example to show us! And we chose Ivory as a shirt color since my dress is ivory and the bridesmaid dresses are peridot and champagne. They never showed us an ivory shirt and now I am worried about the colory of it. There are so many shades of ivory!! Has anyone gotten ivory shirts from MW?? What kind of ivory are they? Off-white or a yellowish ivory? Do they look awful?

We used the MW ivory shirt (non microfiber, just regular cotton) and they were not a true yellowish ivory, more of a cream ivory. Then again, my dress was ivory and if yours isn’t the dress shirts might look a bit yellowish. If you PM me your email I can send you pictures so you can see.

Of all the things to worry about…cross this one off your list! I was worried about this too and now realize my concerns were silly.
First, my dress was ivory and my groom wore a MW ivory shirt and vest, and they looked great together.
Second, even if that wasn’t the case, no one notices tiny things like that! Think about the last few weddings you’ve been to…have you ever though anyone looked "awful"? Probably not–everyone’s glowing and happy on their wedding day, and people are focused on the emotion and joy, not on the attire.

On the other side of that coin, I took a pic with a white shirt and my dress is Davids bridal ivory, it didn’t clash either… so I think you’re good either way!
Theres a pic with my dress next to a manquin on my planning website if you want to see… http://adaashley.googlepages.com/home

Ok, thanks everyone. I guess it will look okay. I was just worried that it would be a yellow ivory, but a cream ivory is perfect!! Now I just have to worry about telling my future Mother-In-Law that we picked ivory shirts. I know she will go on and on about it!!

Don’t tell her the shirts are ivory, she’ll never know.

I should tell her. You see, my dad and my finace’s dad are not renting a tux. It’s not who they are. So, they are buying a black suit and I am buying them matching ties. My dad plans on buying an ivory shirt because of my dress so I think my fiance’s dad should buy an ivory shirt so he is not the only one with a white shirt. Because of this I would meed to tell her about the ivory shirts.

I actually know of a place that does very inexpensive custom shirts that you can order online (based out of Boston), and they might be able to send you samples of the material to see if you can match the ivory colors exactly.
That may be another solution?
