i had all my groomsmen in dark grey suits from Jos. A Banks. They are way more flattering and tailored than the stuff at mens warehouse. my husband first tried on a suit at MW that the worker picked out in his size for him to try on and it was HUGE on him and very boxy looking, we just looked at each other when he came out of the dressing room and laughed at how ridiculous he looked then the employee came back over to see how it fit and he exlaimed how it was PERFECT on him. Ummm NO it looked aweful. Then luckily at J.A.B. one of my friends brothers happened to be a manager (granted in a different state) but he let us order through him and all the guys got 75% off their suits!

@beelovely:  This is funny because we had the exact opposite experience! We went to JAB first — I was sure this was where we’d get his suit. We loved the color and fabric of the suit we found, but the fit was way too baggy. And the salesman kept telling us it looked great and there was no way to further alter it. At MW they worked with us much longer to both pick the suit and to make the alterations, and it looked great!

@hiroshymatetrastar:  You may want to visit both stores to see what kind of experience you have.  And definitely watch for sales for both… I’ve seen lots of sales, esp for JAB… Keep watching, I feel like I used to see 40% sales a lot.

We will probably be going to MW I think they are doing their BOGO right now. Fi’s suit will be much more costly than my dress but he will get to wear it to work over and over again. He also has expensive taste.

The quality of JAB is terrible.  My husband got an expensive suit from there — one of their top of the line suits –and it’s awful.  After a couple of wears there are weird white threads sticking out of the fabric (it’s supposed to be 100% black wool, and a heavier weave).  Totally depressing.  He could have got something much better for the money from JCrew, etc.

He has an older suit from MW, and it still looks good.

Really, though, you might want to avoid either  You can do better for your money — though the color selection of ties is nice at MW.
