FH and I are considering Mens Wearhouse for the guys tuxes. We originally wanted them in grey suits – that they would buy for themselves. But they are all poor college students and can’t afford to spend alot. And I don’t want to stress them out. BUT I want them to look nice, of course!
I found out that Mens Wearhouse has grey tuxes and they actually look super nice in the photos! We would have to go with a chain store since everyone is spread out all over the US. Has anyone used them? What are their prices like? I can’t find prices ANYWHERE. Haha.

We used their grey Vera Wang tuxes and were really happy with them, but I think they were close to $200 to rent.

@TogetherThroughLife: We’re also paying around $200 for the guys tuxes thru MW. I didn’t know when booking with them that their colors match DB’s … we did not buy dresses from DB and therefore the guys vests to not match my MOHs 🙁 So I bought a vest and tie online.
Also, I’m not a huge fan of their patterns.
AND most importantly we’ve had some issues with their staff — Last wedding Fiance was in he was supposed to pick up the tux in city B, about 45 minutes from City A (where he was measured) welll they default to pick up at where you’re measured so while we were in City B for the rehearsal dinner we had to drive back to City A for FI’s tux 🙁
AND we’ve called a few times to make changes on our order for our wedding and they weren’t recorded … so I just called last week to make sure everything was straight for our wedding coming up in a few days 🙂

@Westwood: Did they have any less expensive grey suits to rent?

Is it any cheaper to ONLY rent the tux and shirt – not the shoes, tie, etc.?

@TogetherThroughLife: we also got quoted ~$200 at men’s wearhouse we weren’t very happy with the service. we decided to go with tuxedo junction (a smaller chain), but are much happier! Also, the guy at TJ said that part of the problem with MW is that they make a lot of their $$ from selling suits, so are less likely to cut you a deal or help you out. However, that guy was trying to make a sale, so take that with a grain of salt!

I went to MW about a month ago to look at their suits. I want the guys in khaki pants and blue blazers and the cost to buy the suit was only like $25 more then the cost to rent a tux. The guys haven’t bought their suits yet though. I couldn’t ask them to spend the money right there at Christmas time, but now that Christmas is over they will be buying their suits soon. I’m actually planning on shopping around a bit more today for them…I live for finding good sales!!!!
