Seems like the prices vary signifavntly online for a basic men’s wedding band. I have seen some reviews of some online sites that say they had the ring appraised and it wasn’t the amount of golf it was supposed to be. Best legit place to buy the basic wedding band that honors gold amount it says it is but is reasonably priced as well? Any places to avoid? I would have expected a gold band would cost the same for the same karat amount everywhere but I have seen everything from $180 to 700 for the same basic identical gold band.

Yes, there are so many variations! I’ve seen them second hand for a song and retailing for an arm/leg.
If your budget is limited but your time is not, you could look for some coupons/sales and double up the discounts. A basic everyday band should be readily available, especially as Black Friday approaches. And pawn shops can be worth the trip, if you’re not concerned with its being used.
Having said that, you really ought to have your groom go ring shopping and pick out some characteristics that he wants. Comfort fit. Yellow gold vs. White gold. 2mm vs. 5mm. And so on. No point in saving money on a basic ring right now if he turns out to want one better suited to his needs later on, right?
Happy shopping, Bee!

I know all the details he wants. It really is very basic. I just want to know what sites truly sell you the amount of gold that they advertise and of course which ones don’t is also helpful to know what sites to avoid.
