we actually decided against FH’s favorite Tacori ring because it was so insanely expensive. I already have a Tacori set and loved the Tacori men’s band FH originally tried on, but we just couldn’t justify the price.

We ended up going with a tungsten band, and because our jeweler wasn’t allowed to discount Tacori (none are) they compensated us for buying my set by knock $700 off FH’s band. Snaps!

Beautiful!  My hubby has a simple 10k yellow gold band.  When we got married, there weren’t as many options as there are now –  His only other choice was a few small diamonds which he didn’t want. Why shouldn’t husbands have great rings?  I think my man needs an upgrade!

i should add, we plan on upgrading my center stone for our 10th anniversary, so we will probably upgrade his band then too 🙂

We had a custom-made 18kt white gold band made for Fiance (comfort fit is the way to go!). It was under $1,000 – the rame ring would have been over $2500 if we bought it in a retail shop.

As long as it doesn’t cause financial hardships, its OK to splurge.  Especially since he will be wearing this ring for a long time.  By the way, I can see why his eyes lit up.  It is a beautiful ring.  Congratulations.

I feel you on this. Instead of Tacori we’re doing the full set (my e-ring and both bands) from David Yurman. The band Fiance wants is $1200 and made of platinum. It feels a bit absurd when his friends are wearing $30 tungsten rings they bought off of Amazon, but whatever. It’s what he wants and I’m thrilled that we’ll have identical (except for width and actual size) bands.

That ring looks very similar to the custom ring my fiancé and I are having custom made since we wanted matching bands. His is 6 mm mine is 3.5 mm both in 14k gold. We pick them up Thursday!!!  For both of our rings it cost about $2000.

@becky_homecky:  Very handsome ring! We spent around what I anticipated and less than the highest I thought was reasonable ($750), as I was against all the fad metals. Nothing personal to those who like them, but I personally wanted something more timeless and Fiance races motorcycles and works on cars, so I was nervous about a metal that couldn’t be cut off his finger in an emergency. Anyway, Fiance loves hammered metal so he ended up with a white gold ring with hammered finish in the middle and a simple polished bevel on the outside. He loves it, and I loved seeing him try it on and skip around the house with excitement! lol

I like the Tacori men’s rings, but IMO there is absolutely no justification for the price tag. It’s completely absurd. Even a Tiffany’s men’s platinum band comes in at $1800.

I’m having his custom made from WG for $1200. (Edited to add, it actually looks almost identical to the one you posted, with some other personal touches)

My FH is having his wedding band custom made by a local jewler. He saw a “gold nugget” style that he loved and decided that was what he wanted.  To cut the cost of gold, we decided to melt down his old class ring that he never wears. With the extra gold? Only about $1300 for his custom made band.

This is an example of the style he is getting:
