@megabrooke:  I’d totally recommend e-weddingbands.com. I got my FI’s ring there and it’s beautiful. It’s also very affordable and ships really quick with a 30 day no questions asked return policy.

We got the 14k white gold flat step edge band with a brushed finish. I believe they carry other metals, as well.

If you go the tungsten route, make sure you know the proper size.  Tungsten cannot be re-sized.

We got hubby’s ring at a local jeweler.  We may have paid more than if we got it on Amazon, but he wanted to be able to see the ring in person and we wanted to be sure we ordered the proper size.

We got ours at the same jewelry store we got my engagement ring and my wedding band. He was thinking about the same but turns out he has more expensive taste than we both thought. He picked a ring that looks like this:

I suffered from extreme sticker shock but it is forever.

I’m pretty sure I got my DH’s band from e-weddingbands.com too.  He wanted a plain yellow gold band and I was able to find a heavy weight, 10K gold one there.  I’m not sure if you can get 10K in the box stores and I knew he needed something very durable so I was adamant about the 10K.

We are planning on ordering my FI’s off Amazon. PP is correct: it cannot be resized, so get the right size!

We looked for him at the jeweler he got my engagement ring at, got his size there and got to look/hold/wear all the different widths and whatnot, and then we will just order one. 🙂

@megabrooke:  You can have e-wedding bands send you plastic sizers. That’s what we did. My FI wore one around for a day (a size 9.5) and then we added 1/4 size because we were getting a wider 6mm comfort fit band. The 9.75 was perfect. I’d totally rec using the plastic sizers.

I don’t think FI will end up wearing his band much since he just isn’t a jewelry guy, so we didn’t pay much at all for his. He picked it out, a tungsten ring with carbon fibre inlay (he picked it because it “reminded him of The Matrix”. He’s a nerd lol). We got it from http://www.tanga.com for super silly cheap (we’re talking $20 cheap). We actually got two, one in his size and one half a size up just in case. They are now safely tucked away in my jewelry box, but I’ve examined them and played with them and love them. Hopefully FI will hange his mind and wear it more often than not, its a cool looking ring!
