Hello bees! I have a small problem and need some opinions! My fiance went tuxedo browsing with a friend and is torn between a couple options.
He’s got a lot of flair and likes doing things slightly out of the box… so he found a purple shirt that matches my DB dress in White/Plum:
I actually quite like the purple shirt idea.. we figured during the reception he could take his jacket off and just have the vest/shirt.
We couldn’t find anything online that showed a black tux with purple shirt.. so I compiled some of my own… as well as white shirt options with purple accenting. It’s a little choppy so forgive me!
Any opinions? Would love to hear from you all!

I think that the purple on black is just a little too dark for my taste – if he’s going for an effect of going with your dress, I would go with the purples and whites – I think I would go with purple shirt, purple tie, white vest OR white shirt purple tie white vest.

I agree with pengoala…purple on black appears too dark. I like #1 or #2 best!

I like number 3 acutally. – It’s kind of the opposite of your dress.
#4 – I think the white tie gets lost in the white shirt.
1, 2 and 5 are ok.

Hi I was wondering where at you guys found that dress in the blog??!!! It looks beautiful and I plan on possibly doing a plum and white color theme for my wedding.

I like the top center choice. Maybe do the top left for the groom only.

Err on the side of tradition – white shirt.

I think the purple vest with purple tie is too much to be honest, as it’s so close to black. Also I’m not a fan of coloured vests anyway.
So I think he should have a white shirt with purple tie, no vest, for the ceremony, and then maybe switch to a purple shirt (no jacked) for the reception.
