My fiance and I had a tasting the other day and all the entrees were awesome! I’m just not sure what to pick because everything was good.
We were thinking of doing two options, and we’re still not sure whether to do plated or buffet (the entrees we tried at the tasting were all available for both buffet and plated).
In order of our tasting:
1. Stuffed pork loin – it was probably the favorite dish of both Fiance and I.
2. Italian Chicken – a chicken breast stuffed with spinach, mozarella, ham and other things, lightly breaded and sauteed. I thougth it was really tasty. FI didn’t like it quite as well as I did and thought the filling tasted a little dry.
3. Beef Tenderloin – sliced with sauce Robert drizzled over it. FI really liked it. For me the sauce was not my favorite, but I liked it pretty well, and the beef was super awesome and cooked to perfection.
Fiance would prefer to offer the Beef Tenderloin and the stuffed pork loin. But originally I was thinking we’d probably want to have a chicken offering because that’s pretty standard with weddings, and a lot of people like it. Fiance says that pork is considered a “white meat” so it should be OK to have that instead of chicken. I’m sort of of the opinion that pork being a white meat is more marketing than reality, although not sure if we’d absolutely have to have a white meat – it is just traditional?
One problem with doing both the chicken and the pork is that the chicken dish has ham in it, so that might be a problem if some people don’t care for pork (We shouldn’t have anyone in our guest list that has a religious reason for not eating pork, but whether everyone likes it or not is a different matter). It might be possible for them to not have the ham in the chicken, or maybe to substitute something else in there, although it might cost something for a change like that.
Plated prices: The chicken is the least expensive, at $26 per entree. The pork is next in price at $28. The beef is the most expensive at $34.
Every plated entree choice added makes each entree $1 more – so if we just have chicken, it’s all $26. If we have Chicken and Pork then it’s $27 and $29. If we have all three then it’s $28, $30, and $36.
Buffet prices – $33 for two entree choices, $36 for three entree choices.
Any thoughts? What would you pick?
