@imanw:  I would like all three menu choices, I think it depends on the type of food that you are going for at your reception.

The last option for me! I’m a potato and cheese aholic though. =)

I also love asparagus tips, but I dont know what that eunice stuff is and I tried to look up pictures but didnt really see anything that looked appealing.

I also voted for the last bc I despise asparagus and some people may not like baked beans.

As much as I love starch (seriously, I am a carb addict), I think you need to have one vegetable. So for me, the last options would be out.

    I didn’t vote…

Although all 3 of these menus have similarities… they convey a different feel.

    # 1 is the classiest… incase that matters to you (or matches your Wedding theme)

    # 2 is the most casual… because it has baked beans & coleslaw

    # 3 lies somewhere in between

As someone else said… Not everyone likes Asparagus.  OR baked beans.  And # 3 has NO Veggies (a downfall for some)

But ULTIMATELY this is YOUR MEAL… and so you guys as B&G should decide what it is you’d like to serve your Guests.

When I got married the first time round (circa 1980) … My Ex-H and I chose things that were favourites for us… Garden Salad – Rolls & Butter – Roast Beef, Yorkshire Pudding, Baked Potatoes & Kernal Corn (and all the necessary condiments… Horseradish, Grainy Mustard, Gravy Au Jus, Butter, Sour Cream etc) – and Pickles & Olives on the tables

We didn’t worry awhole lot about how fussy our Guests were (or what they thought) … just knew that this was a god meal for most folks… in that timeframe.

Today… though things would be different I imagine with all the allergies and meal preferences (for example… do you have a Vegetarian option ?)

    Hope this helps,

For me… right now, # 1 or # 4 would be my faves.

@imanw:  Based on the new option, I’d pick the 4th one. I do love green beans.

@imanw:  i now switch from the second to the fourth option with the beans!

    @imanw:  my ideal combo was:

Brisket, Garlic Potatoes, Asparagus Tips, Bread Rolls

But that wasn’t an option… so I chose the last one as the beans would still be awesome. I think you definitely need a veggie and this option: Brisket, roasted garlic potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and bread rolls is too starch heavy.

I choose #4 because it will work for people with gluten issues and is a little healthier. Not sure if that matters to you, but I hate seeing my tween, teen, and early 20s cousins not touch food. They’d eat this.
