We’re having a sit down dinner and our entrée choices are Grilled Sirloin Steak, Chicken Cordon Bleu and Pasta Primavera.

I basically always order the beef dish unless it is prime rib.

@crh1729: FI and I prefer sit downs over buffets. We’re not fans of everyone in the room breathing on our food. Though, we don’t even go to buffet restaurants. With that said, I have been to weddings with a buffet and the food was very good. It’s just personal preference.

I always eat chicken at weddings because I am picking about my beef is cooked, it MUST be well done or else I won’t eat it. I don’t usually eat pork because it makes me sick and I don’t like fish too much lol.

We are having a buffet at our reception. It was the most cost effective, plus the food at our venue is amazing! We are having beef tips and chicken kiev (not sure if that’s how it’s splled)

I think chicken tends to be the safest choice for pleasing a crowd. CaitMarae’s menu would be too hard to pick just one from, though!

Hi OP!  I can’t choose because you didn’t put a Veggie Option on your poll! 🙂

So I’ll tell you here I guess that I’m vegetarian and would choose a veggie option.  Seated dinners are the norm here over buffet but for a vegetarian, a varied buffet or stations is easier to find something to eat.

I think chicken and beef are most universal.  Most places will also let you have a veggie option.  We are having a plated dinner and the choices are filet mignon with roasted peppercorn sauce and tuscan stuffed chicken.  I think it also depends on the cut of beef that you choose, some people are picky about their meat.

We’re having hors d’oeurves served buffet style. So we’ll have chicken and beef variations. Not sure about fish though probably not. We might have something with bacon in it.

On top of being more cost effective, I like the idea of the buffet hors d’oeurves because it encourages people to mingle and chat which is important to me since we won’t have dancing.

I like buffets b/c I can taste a little bit of everything.  We’re having a beef, chicken, and pasta dish.  I voted beef b/c it is what I usually order, but a lot of people don’t eat red meat.

I always choose veggie (if its not a pasta or rice based dish) or the beef. Chicken is almost ALWAYS overcooked when cooked in large quantities.
