    I think they are a nice touch and added detail but do NOT think they are necessary.  As a guest, it would be nice to see what I’m having for dinner but I wouldn’t think your wedding was lacking because it didn’t have menu cards.  If you don’t want to do cards per place setting (due to money or time/effort) you could always do one per table.

    @jlpalumbo:  Necessary? No, definitely not. Would it be nice? Sure! I always like to know what I’m eating ahead of time. I’m a very picky eater though.

    I think it’s even more helpful if there is only ome dish, so everyone knows what they are getting. When there are choices, the waiters generally list them and people know what they are choosing, but it doesn’t look like people will be hearing what is being served until it is in front of them.

    It’s not necessary, but it can be nice and I definitely think two per table on either side would be plenty, and as a guest I’d rather that than have a piece of paper to put somewhere….

    Looks good.  You could even just post it somewhere by the entrance to the reception hall for those who care to see.
