We’re having an outdoor wedding at my fiances father’s backyard. I’m wanting to have menu’s at each place setting, I think it gives the reception a “special touch” But I’m wondering if it’s a little silly since we’re having a buffet style dinner. Would it be nice to have to give our guests a heads up of what will be served at the buffet or is it completelyl unnecessary?

I don’t think it’s necessary. There should be signs next to the food so they can tell what is there by going and looking at it.

i really like what junebride did – it adds something cute and you don’t have to do it individually. we’re having stations but not traditional seating but i will be sure to have all the food and sauces labeled matching our invitations. good luck. 🙂

It is definitely not required but I am doing it so guests have something to look at while they are waiting to go up to the buffet

I am also doing menus, but I will be listing not only what is at the buffet, but our signature drinks, other beverages available as well as flavors of wedding cake… so that people are prepared!

I’m also having a buffett style and menus–except my menus aren’t traditional. I’m planning on having a menu signs at each food item so that they know what it is. I have people coming to the wedding who are vegans or have nut allergies. I’m going to give them options and I know that they will need to know what’s what.

I don’t think it’s necessary, but I think it would be nice! I’d do it at my own wedding if I weren’t already So. Over. Doing stuff! If it doesn’t put you out time-wise or financially, I say go for it. I always like knowing what will be on the buffet line before I get there so I can plan the space on my plate (OK I’m a piggy).

I’m like caszos – we had manus so that people would have an idea of what was being served while they were waiting. It’s not necessary, but I don’t think it’s silly.

We’re putting menus at everyone’s table… since we’re not doing party favors, the bottom of our menus are stating that in lieu of a favor, a donation has been made to _____ charity in your name.

i think the lines will move faster if people can think about what they want before they get there.
