Hello…for all the brides out there who wore a mermaid tulle dress with lace-up back, how did you go to the washroom? I was told to just have someone help hold the dress up to my waist, but it would mean taking someone with me every single time. Is there a simpler way to do it on my own? Thanks for the tips.

I heard a trick where you take a large garbage bag, make a hole in the bottom big enough for your legs, then step into the hole and pull the bag up to your hips along with the dress this way all the poof is contained in the bag, then do yiir business. Im not sure if this will work with a tight mermaid style though. :/

I had a mermaid dress but it wasn’t so tight that I couldn’t lift it up. I had a friend come with me but in the end she was not needed – instead of sitting on the toilet like usual, turn around and walk toward it and then sit on it. Hike your dress up the front as you sit down so it goes over the toilet, in front and back. It works!

If you have a simple zip back you can just unzip, go, and zip back up!

I had a fit n flare so tight to mid-thigh I took the whole dress off each time I used the washroom. Needed a friend to unzip and zip but I had privacy in the stall.

I had a fit and flare/mermaid and I literally had to take the whole dress off to go to the bathroom. Oh well, lol.

I had a mermaid dress with a zip-up back and had no problems going the to the washroom by myself. The dress had enough give that I was able to hike it up over my hips, so I didn’t have to take it off everytime (thank goodness!). So, I just hiked it up and held onto it.

Thanks everyone. I had the seamstress give me some allowance around the hips for sitting and going to the washroom. I like the idea of facing towards the toilet instead of away from it. I’d really like to be able to do it on my own, would hate to interrupt anyone for it…unless I can just go to the bridal suite washroom with hubby, then Im sure he wouldn’t mind 😛
