My family is super generous, this year and all years.

-My mom handmade us some Marvel-themed xmas ornaments out of felt. They are awesome and I told her to open an Etsy store. She also got me a thread rack to organize all my thread, and a new welcome mat for our apartment since ours is nasty.

-My dad passed down his old car to me this year, so I told him he’d better not get us anything as that was already overly generous. He still got me a few nice hardcover novels.

-Money from my grandfather

-A mug from my best friend

-My husband didn’t get me anything yet. I am trying to take my mom on a big surprise trip for her 60th birthday this year, so I told him that the perfect gift would be a monetary contribution toward that, when the time comes. He is awful at gift-giving so I like to try to take the pressure off him and just tell him what to get me. 😛

My Christmas was absolutely amazing and I couldn’t be more thankful.

From fiance: a yoga mat and yoga channel subscription, white converse, a Lenox ornament symbolizing our engagement this year (I cried), new pajamas, and a kit to get our dog DNA tested to figure out her breed(s).

From my parents: a new laptop, a Hotel Collection down comforter, a new hair straightener, kate spade warm scarf, T shirt, gift cards, and a cookbook.

From his parents: a flashlight and a Chicago Bears t shirt. His mom is the queen of not great gift giving. Lol

My mother got me vintage dishes to complete 6 place sittings. Its very 1950s. Love it.

I got books, which I love. Some ornaments, which I really love cause I can remember them always.

PJs and other random things here and there.  The show stopper of the night….my stepfather gave me a topaz. I’m guessing its 2 carts on my stubby finger. Its vintage, though perhaps the 80s or so…I doubt its any older than that.  It eclipses my ering which is only 1/2 cart, so I am unsure when I will wear it. But he nearly broke my heart when he hugged me and said , “I want you to remember me, remember the old guy.”  HIs brother died suddenly this year and I wonder if he’s thinking about things. cry

We have 3 kids and only bought presents for each other so the kids didn’t think we were naughty when Santa didn’t bring us anything lol. I got:
a new adidas gym bag
an at home pedicure/foot soaking tub thingy
and a really cute pair of black boots.

Fiance really surprised me and himself with the boots. He picked them all by himself and I love them! He’s never bought be anything to wear before.

My 5 year old also got me a mini jar of sand (with a mini fake rose and scroll in it) and a nail file from the “Pengiun Patch” at his school. His teacher said he took forever and looked at everything before picking those things for me. That instantly makes them my favorite gifts of the year despite their weirdness lol <3

We got a lot of kitchen stuff from our parents too.

Oh I just remembered, Future Sister-In-Law gave a joint gift to Fiance and I – an esky (cool box) which we asked for. Very useful for parties and going away!

We have a $50 price limit because we tend to just buy want we need anyway, and are currently saving for a house and vacations.

This year, Darling Husband got me a beautiful pearl drop necklace and the new Moana soundtrack CD.

I got a sewing machine!! I am super dork excited!!!

I am having major surgery in January, and have been trying to think of ways to not go stir crazy since I won’t be able to even take a walk for weeks. I mentioned to Darling Husband months ago that I thought sewing would be the perfect stationary hobby to take up, and that maybe I would look into it. He (well probably SIL since Darling Husband is not tech anything saavy) went into my Amazon account and found the exact machine I was going to buy!! He also got me a gift certificate to Michael’s to take classes or buy supplies. So sweet.

From Fiance, I got new running shoes, Patagonia fleece, Fitbit, coach purse, a necklace, and some spray from VS.

My favorite gift from my parents was a recipe box my mom put together with all my late grandmothers recipes inside. There’s about 100 in there and my mom wrote all by hand. I also got some money and gift cards, sweaters, and a puzzle from them.

From FI’s family, I got lots of gift cards, money, and some more sweaters, books.

My brother also got me and Fiance some nice dishes and cast iron.
