MrsLewis88:  Unless Etsy has changed their process, you can write a bad review on his shop (be sure to post the pictures of the ring) and then contact Etsy directly with your complaint.  Etsy prides it’s self on having the best shops (which is why sellers freak over a bad review) because they only get so many strikes before Etsy takes them down.  If he is not willing to refund your money then that’s when you go to Etsy directly and let them know.

So sorry this is happening.

Is it too late to try doing a charge back on the credit card that paypal took the payment from?

I’m sorry this whole thing has turned out to be such a hassle for you, and a very expensive lesson. Have you actually gone to local jewelers (not chain stores) and spoken to them about turning your vision into a ring? Or are you just assuming they’ll say no since it’s non-traditional and complicated? I ask because my Fiance had an idea of what he’d like my custom engagement ring to look like and researched a few local shops before going to one. While they didn’t turn down his business, they showed him how what he wanted was a little impractical and worked with him to design something similar that wouldn’t be structually unsound. If you’ve gone into stores and they rejected your design, I’m surprised they didn’t at least try to help you out with a similar one that’s feasible.

MrsLewis88:  beckib is saying you can go beyond paypal, talk to your credit card or bank about a chargeback, if you funded the payment that way.

MrsLewis88:  If he “cheated the system” and Etsy is aware of that, your money should be refunded. Period. And on top of that, Etsy shouldn’t allow him to conduct his shady business there either.

MrsLewis88:  oh no.. Id be calling paypal back and asking for a supervisor! Custom or not you are supposed to be protected. Not okay.

And contact David Klass for a custom ring. He did mine too and it’s amazing! I’m sure he can direct you where to get the stone for center or he can get one for you.

MrsSparkleBee13:  your halo also would have a lot less gold in it than one made to fit such a large novelty cut morganite.

Honestly, with a jeweller willing to put so little support on such a big, semiprecious stone (and charging less than what a discount online retailer can for a larger volume of gold) what would you expect?

MrsLewis88:  what!? Oh heck no. He offered money back and than says no. I’d for sure start leaving bad feedback, call paypal and show them that email, call etsy! I’d be calling around.

And, did you speak to David Klass??

babeba:  David Klass is actually very reasonably priced for his awesome work. Yes she has less gold, but for what the OP paid through etsy, she probably would have paid the same or less thru David. If you haven’t had a ring made through him you wouldnt know how great his prices are. I back up what MrsSparkleBee13 says!
