Hi! My guy and I met on eharmony 3 years ago and are now getting married. I’m trying to think of ways that I could incorporate online dating into the wedding. maybe with decorations? or something on the invites? We also still have the first emails we wrote to each other during the 3 weeks before we met in person, any ideas on how I could use those??

Friends of mine made a little video that played during dessert at their reception. It showed them acting out how they met and it was hilarious! You could do something similar, maybe film yourselves at your computers saying out loud the emails you wrote to each other, especially anything corny. You could zoom in close to show the photos you sent each other and stuff like that. It could be very funny!

Maybe your centerpieces could be laptops playing a photo slide show of you or old laptops (very green use–you could find them on freecycle) and incorporate flowers or other decorations)? Another thing would be to have a laptop themed groom’s cake. You could name your tables after different online dating sites and use emoticons as graphics on your invitations, programs and table numbers and escort cards. You could also get custom ties or sashes made from Southern Proper or Vineyard Vines incororating internet related things, like emoticons or internet "code language" or even html code. You could use old computer keys on signs or table numbers. Everyone’s escort cards could be recycled computer mice (mouse) with the person’s name written on it.
One of my friends included the first email conversation they had with each other in their programs for their guests to read.

incorporate in your programs your online profiles (and maybe make fake profiles for the wedding party to be included), print info in email format, and include ‘attachements’ of extras?

You could also send your invitations and save the dates via e-cards you design and webcast your ceremony and reception to friends and family that could not make it.

these would make great favors! They’re mints packaged in mini computers. You can even have the screens printed with your wedding date and your names.

We met on match.com — we didn’t incorporate this into our wedding, but our reverend said the following during our ceremony:
The lifelong search of D____ and C_____ is over. They have found each other and have fallen deeply in love. They met the old fashioned way, on the internet. And although they hadn’t met yet, they just clicked.
Ha Ha, anyway, if you want to read the whole ceremon, I posted it at http://caliocweddingvows.blogspot.com/

you can give mouse pads as a favor.

Use online portfolios for Save-The-Date Cards, it would be cute.

I love the mousepad favor idea! You might also contact eHarmony, it’s possible people have contacted them about this before. Who knows, they might even be willing to provide something if you let them use the pictures on their site!

We met on match.com and we’re making our guestbook of ‘match.com’ profiles. We’re going to have our photographer take photos of every guest and then have each of the guests fill out a form that will have match.com questions, then compile it to make a guestbook.. voila.
