I think both will look good. I’m normally agaisnt silk flowers, but I think I prefer the second, since it’s larger and will make more of an impact.

I actually think they are both gorgeous but its a matter of what sort of statement you are making.  My preference is the first one but I love the classic look of the rose and how beautiful it looks all on its own.  I personally think that the second one would look a little too squished into the vase and when you put the water in, its going to magnify it and look bigger.  (Love your colour scheme ๐Ÿ™‚

If they are submerged the guests will never know the difference ๐Ÿ™‚ If guests will never know saving 1500 dollars is worth in IMO. I would go that route and put the saved money toward something else you would like to have ๐Ÿ™‚

I like the orchids!  You could always go with real orchids, if you don’t like the “real touch” orchids or the live roses.   But, why not save the $?  Think of what how this would benefit you as a newly married couple down the road…

My only concern with the roses would be- are you planning to use real green roses (which are basically just the sepals of a normal rose), or will you be using dyed? Because if you are using dyed, I would be concerned about submerging them, and having them turn the water green too.

I don’t think that people will notice they are fake becuase they will be submerged. I understand  your hesitation, but I don’t think it’s a big deal in this case. If they were going to be touched, then maybe it would be more of an issue, but it’s not.

I think I personally would prefer the orchids.  No one but you will know they’re fake, plus you can keep them as a momento.

@ginamj88:The single rose is gorgeous but it seems like you’re going with silk.  Even $1000 for fake flowers from a florist is outrageous.  If you’re going to go the silk route and do what’s in the photo above you might want to experiment with making one yourself.  I’m sure a craft store will have what you need and you can probably cut that $1000 to a few hundred.

ETA: Even if a craft store doesn’t have the silk orchids I’m sure somewhere online would have them.

@ginamj88: I would ask him to show you a picture of the roses before you order them. The only green roses I am familiar with that look green are very light, and will probably look white under water, or don’t look much like roses. (or of course or dyed). I just don’t want you to be disappointed with the end result ๐Ÿ™‚

I think the orchids can be pretty too.

I love the orchid!  It really makes a nice statement.
