I have rose, so I’m biased. I’ve found that most good quality 14K rose gold doesn’t look super pink. Mine usually looks more like a light/non-brassy yellow gold. White gold is more high maintenance, and I often find that it looks like sterling silver, which I don’t love. Plus, like you said, if you have a white diamond and a white metal, the stone doesn’t pop nearly as much. I’d only personally opt for white metals if I were to get a colored stone.

dancingfirefly :  I think yellow gold looks beautiful on warmer skin tones, though rose gold would be beautiful as well!

I’m pale with freckles. I have a J stone set in white gold. I’m so naturally pink that my setting reflects it and shows pink in pictures. I went with white gold bc I consider it the most timeless. I wear yellow gold and rose gold jewelry too.

Redhead with pale skin here. I love yellow gold on myself…could be because my Aunt and Grandma are also pale redheads and they wear yellow gold. But I really love the way my diamonds look with the yellow gold as well as my skin tone. 🙂

I would totally pick rose gold for you, but then I am biased as my ring is rose gold.

Have you considered unplated white gold? It’s not as bold as yellow gold and is slightly different to your go to of white gold with rhodium plating
